Easter's 22 points help Atlanta topple Spring Hill, 44-40

LONGVIEW, Texas-Keyona Easter poured in a game-high 22 points to lead Atlanta over Spring Hill, 44-40, at the Spring Hill basketball tournament.

Sheveonia Smith contributed 14 points for Atlanta.

Easter swished in 17 points as the Lady Rabbs throttled Center 55-33. Smith had 14 points, while teammate Avery Trotter helped out
with 10.

 

Hope 72, New Boston 57

HOPE, Ark.-Raley Potter dominated the game, leading the Lady Cats with 25 points in a 72-57 victory over the Lady
Lions.

Andria Curtis added 12 points of her own to Arkansas' leader board.

Standouts for New Boston were McKenzie Thomas, racking up 14, Chloe Davis with 11, Madison Thomas with 8, and Hannah Burnett with 10 rebounds.

The Lady Lions are home against Maud on Tuesday and host the Gunslinger Tourney, which begins Thursday.

 

Genoa 54,
Lafayette County 29

STAMPS, Ark.The Lady Dragons turned in a dominant performance in a 54-29 victory over the Lady Cougars.

Victoria Hill led the way with a double-double, tallying 16 points and 10 steals.

The Lady Dragons also got 11 points from Lakyn McMurry. Nadia White score 8 in a losing effort for the Lady Cougars who will take on Bradley on Monday in the Kirby Invitational Tournament.

Boys

McLeod 61, Miller Grove 50

CUMBY, Texas-Colby Smith knocked down four treys and finished with 21 points as McLeod beat host Miller Grove.

JR Smith had a hot hand as he scored 18 points for the Longhorns.

Luke Brignon paced the Hornets with 16 points. Albert Serrano scored 13, and Grant Sharp
had 10.

 

Hope 58, New Boston 30

HOPE, Ark.-Hope pulled out a lop-sided win over New Boston.

The Bobcats were led by Desmond McDonald led with 15 points and Keith Brown, who racked up the second most points for the game with 14.

Hope is now 2-1 on the season.

 

Hughes Springs tournament

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Sixteen games were played at Mustang Gym in the boys and girls Hughes Springs basketball tournament.

In the girls' games, DeKalb defeated White Oak 47-36, Harmony beat Harleton 41-35, Harmony got by Linden-Kildare 34-27, Mineola won 62-22 over Harleton, Mineola also defeated Linden-Kildare 65-17, and Jefferson handled White Oak 49-21.

In boys action, Linden-Kildare edged Paul Pewitt 39-38, New Diana beat Maud 56-46, Ore City nipped New Diana 42-41, Maud defeated Hawkins 47-44, Ore City outlasted Harleton 61-55, and Linden-Kildare beat Hawkins 66-42.

 

Girls

DeKalb 47, White Oak 36

Kiara Williams scored 14, and the Lady Bears earned the win. Mikayla Baxley contributed 12 points, and teammate Latrissa Crittenden added 10 for DeKalb.

Asia Robertson scored 11 for White Oak.

 

Harmony 41, Harleton 35

Lexie Miller swished in 14 points for Harmony.

Kara Wright had 11 points for Harleton.

Linden-Kildare 27

Miller scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Eagles to
victory.

Makayla Martin scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers.

 

Mineola 62, Harleton 22

Sabria Dean poured in 23 points, and the Lady Yellowjackets cruised to the win. Teammate Jessiah Riley helped out with 10.

Desiree Mobley led Harleton with five points.

 

Mineola 65, Linden-Kildare 17

Jessiah Riley shot in 16 points, while teammate Sabria Dean scored 14 as the Yellowjackets defeated the Lady Tigers.

Skylar Vaughn led L-K with five points.

 

Jefferson 49, White Oak 21

Jayda McCoy lit up the scoreboard with 22 points, and the Lady Bulldogs rolled.

Jakayla Jones helped out with 12 points for Jefferson.

Asia Robertson scored five
for White Oak.

Jamaya Smith had 15 points as Jefferson edged the Lady Mustangs. Teammate Elaina Langbartels scored 11 points.

Kaitlyn Roth poured in 10 points to lead the Mustangs to victory.

Cody Payton dipped in 10 points, and the Eagles upended the
Cardinals.

Cade Prince dropped 12 points for Maud, while teammate Gage Jones had 11.

 

Ore City 42, New Diana 41

Nick Hughes and Joe Campbell scored 12 points each to lead the Rebels.

Jordan Stroud had seven points for the Eagles.

Deidric Hill had a game-high 13 points to lead the Mustangs. Teammate Alex Bruce contributed 11, and Chandler King
added 10.

Johntavius Goynes and Andy Ward paced Harleton with six

Tyshum Mitchell knocked down 20 points, and Cameron Smith had 19 as the Brahmas edged the Mustangs.

Love White helped out with 12 Paul Pewitt points.

Alex Bruce scored 18 for Hughes Springs, and Tradarian Craver poured in 16. Sean Pope added 10 for the Mustangs.

Gage Jones popped in 15 points, and Cade Prince added 11 to lead the Cardinals to victory.

Everia Gipson put in 18 points, and teammate Akim Richmond had 12 for Hawkins.

Nick Hughes lit up the nets for 24 points and the Rebels got the win.

Caleb Dickerson scored 20 points for the Wildcats, and teammate Cade Dickerson had 11.

Jakevian Rose put 19 points on the scoreboard to lead L-K over Maud.

Marcus Jones chipped in 15 for the Tigers, while Cortez Peterson added 11, and Marquise Jones had 10.
