Pleasant Grove defeats Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Texas-Connor Ouellette had a game-high 27 points, and Pleasant Grove defeated Clarksville 59-54.

"It was a total team effort in a game between two quality teams," Hawk head coach Billy Brewer said.

Clashon Gaffney poured in 20 points for the Tigers.

Quentin Wallace hit for 13 points, and teammate Ranzae Daniels added 10 for Clarksville.

Pleasant Grove (2-2) hosts New Boston Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Texas High 90, Chapel Hill 72

TYLER, Texas-The Tigers won with gusto over Chapel Hill at the Wagstaff Gym at Tyler Junior College.

Texas High was led by Curtis Crump with 23 points, and and Tevailance Hunt with 22.

From start to finish the game belonged to the Tigers who outscored their opponents in every quarter, save the second when the Bulldogs outdid Texas High 27-25.

Additional offensive standouts for Texas High were Quan Hampton with 13, Lavon Brown who had four buckets including a three-pointer and two free-throws for 11 points, and Anton Coulter and Caleb Wilson who had 8 points apiece.

Chapel Hill was led by Blake Harris who sank seven shots and one charity shot for 15 points.

Other high scorers for the Bulldogs were Darian Hawland with 11 and Devin Taylor added 10.

The Tigers climb to 3-0 on the season and will play next on Tuesday at Ashdown.

Arkansas High 80, Lakeside 45

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.-Arkansas High won with dramatic fashion 80-45 over host Lakeside.

Taviron Oliver led the Razorbacks (3-1) lighting up the scoreboard for 29 points. Following behind was Kyndal Martin with 14 and Jonathan Gullatt who had 15.

Arkansas High's junior varsity slipped by Lakeside 28-26.

Kameron Dockery led the Razorbacks with 10. Austin Gailberth tacked on six.

Arkansas High will play in its first home game on Tuesday against Lake Hamilton.

Texas High 64, Commerce 28

WINNSBORO, Texas-Texas High picked up its second win with a lop-sided win over OCmmerce in the Winnsboro Hoopfest.

Mia Wilson scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers, who had 11 players score. Unique McBride had nine points, and Blaire Bledsoe and Vicki Willis had eight each.

Texas High used a 17-2 run in the second quarter to pull away.
