Texas High coach Craig Collvins found good in Monday's lopsided win, 86-20, over Marshall at the Tiger Center.
"The biggest thing we got out of this is that we had been in a shooting slump, and I thought we shot the ball really well tonight," Collvins said. "There at the end we got to work on some different offensive stuff, and we executed pretty well.
"Our second five came out on fire early in the first quarter. They were moving the ball around well, and getting hands on the ball. (Blaire) Bledsoe hit some treys to sort of ignite us, which kept us rolling."
Texas High (8-9, 2-1) built an 18-0 cushion in the first four minutes of the game. The Lady Tigers actually scored the game's first 31 points before the Lady Mavs' Courtnee Shead scored inside with 5:10 left in the first half.
Bledsoe swished the first of four treys with 6:18 left in the opening period to make it 4-0, and buried another 3-pointer 29 seconds later as she poured in nine of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter.
Marshall, now 0-2 in District 16-5A, struggled against the Tigers' pressure with 20 turnovers in the first eight minutes, and 49 in the game.
Collvins played all 10 of his girls equally, with Antonia Porter scoring 12 points and Unique McBride contributing 10.
THS easily won the battle on the glass, 57-27. Maranda Miller, Amiyah Rone, Vicki Willis and Asia Lloyd all pulled down eight rebounds each.
The clock ran unstopped in the fourth quarter and Marshall's offense outscored the Tigers 10-8. THS quit pressing during that span, and stalled at the offensive end.
Texas High's junior varsity also enjoyed an easy win over the Mavs, 69-20. Kerrighan Dunn led the Tigers with 16 points. Sedaya Finley scored 14, Mondraesha Davis 12 and Brittney Kile 11. Jaqualia Morris was high for Marshall with eight points.
