Texas High goes 3-0 at Hallsville

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Texas High went 3-0 on the second day of the Hallsville Holiday Classic.

Texas High's varsity girls rolled past Daingerfield 52-25 in its opener.

Vickie Willis and Antonia Porter paced the Lady Tigers' offensive onslaught, each dropping 11 points before the final whistle.

Mikayla Roberson led Daingerfield offensively, scoring 10 points in the contest.

Texas High dismantled Henderson 77-36 in its second game of the day.

Blaire Bledsoe and Antonia Porter led the Tigers' offensive surge, each contributing 13 in their efforts. Unique McBride also reached double-digits for Texas High, dropping 10 points on the night.

Ke'lanya Ballard led Henderson offensively, scoring a team-high 10 points for her squad.

Bledsoe hooped in a team-high 15 points as Texas High defeated Athens 78-35.

Willis scored 14, Kiasyia Morrison contributed 11, and Mia Wilson added 10 points for the Lady Tigers.

Hallie Williams paced the Lady Hornets with a game-high 16 points.

Longview 50,
Liberty-Eylau 40, Game 2

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Taylor Crabtree led the Lady Leopards with 10 points, and Liberty-Eylau defeated Arp in its first tournament game.

Crabtree had a game-high 16 points against Longview, but the Leopards fell 50-40.

Liberty-Eylau plays Houston Heights today at noon in the tournament.

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Chloe Davis paced New Boston with 12 points, but the Lady Lions fell to Sunnyvale.

Madison D'Elia had a game-high 22 for Sunnyvale.

New Boston's Davis poured in 12 points against Pine Tree, but the Lions were defeated.

Marissa Gary lit up the nets for 21 points, and teammate Taylor Morgan added 16 for the Lady Pirates.

 

Camden-Fairview Holiday Invitational Tournament

CAMDEN, Ark.-Eden Crow continued her strong senior campaign, leading the Lady Dragons past Camden-Fairview in the first game of the Cardinals' tournament.

Crow went for a double-double for her efforts, dropping 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Maddie Hampton also paced Genoa Central, scoring 11 points in the win. Carly Wood also reached double-digits for the Lady Dragons, draining 10 points for her squad.

Zay Fort led the Lady Cardinals' offensively, scoring six points.

Genoa Central (11-2) look to stay perfect in the holiday tournament continuing play today, taking on Magnolia at 4:00 p.m.

 

Queen City 51, Avinger 40

AVINGER, Texas-Jacie Lance lit up the nets for 25 points, and the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Indians.

Jessica Jones knocked down three shots from 3-point land and finished with 20 points for Queen City.

Jayden Grant paced Avinger with 13, while teammate Brooke Kirkpatrick added 10.

Queen City (10-6, 3-0) plays at district rival New Boston Tuesday.

ORE CITY, Texas-Hughes Springs dropped both of their games in the Ore City Invitational Tournament.

Union Grove edged out Hughes Springs in a nail biter.

Austin Owens led Union Grove to victory, scoring a game-high 16 points. Parker Thornton followed up Owens scoring, dropping 15 points in the win. Brennon Daughtry scored 14 points for Union Grove.

Tradarian Craver led Hughes Springs offensively, pouring in 15 points before the final buzzer. Teammate Alex Bruce contributed 14 points during the contest. Bryce Johnston also tallied up double-digits scoring, draining 12 points before his night was finished.

Alba-Golden defeated Hughes Springs in the nightcap.

Logan Miller led Alba-Golden to victory, dropping a game-high 31 points.

Bryce Johnston led Hughes Springs offensively, scoring 14 points in its final game of the day.

Hughes Springs is back in action on Friday, hosting Bloomburg.

 

Camden-Fairview Holiday Invitational Tournament

THS 54, Nevada 53

CAMDEN, Ark.-Texas High escaped a heart-breaker to Nevada, thanks to the intuitiveness of senior leader Quan Hampton.

Hampton not only led his squad but he also led all-scorers, draining 24 points before the last buzzer, literally. Hampton hit a buzzer beater to propel the Tigers to victory. Teammate Cole Drumm scored 10.

Brandon Gulley led Nevada offensively, dropping 18 points in a valiant effort. Makeem Loudermill also contributed to Nevada's offensive game-plan, scoring 14 points before Hampton's
eliminator.

Texas High plays the winner of Dollarway-Camden at 8:30 p.m.
