Pleasant Grove beats Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Texas-Connor Ouellette knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 19 points as Pleasant Grove defeated Pittsburg, 59-52, Tuesday night at Pirate Gym.

Tanner Cole chipped in 13 points, and Cross Bright added 11 points for the Hawks, who solidified their hold on second place in District 15-4A. At 5-1, PG holds a two-game lead over third place North Lamar.

Dejour Powell led the Pirates with 21 points. Brian Baca scored 14 points for the Pirates (7-10, 2-4).

PITTSBURG, Texas-Down by 10 with five minutes to play, Pleasant Grove rallied for an overtime win.

Carley Barrett led the Lady Hawks with 19 points, Bretta Wacha had 17, and Faith Lipham and Madeline Haak had 14 apiece.

Alyanna Palmer led the Lady Pirates with 14 points. D'Ambria Harkey had 12 and Star Smith 11 for Pittsburg (11-19, 1-7).

Pleasant Grove (18-11, 6-2) hosts Atlanta Friday.

L-E sweeps Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Texas-Liberty-Eylau Middle School swept Pittsburg in all four games Monday night at Pirate Gym.

TJ Templeton and Rakeem Harris scored eight points as L-E's 8th-grade A team defeated Pittsburg, 35-31.

Matthew Hill led the Pirates with 13 points.

Jack Dedner scored 12 points as L-E's 8th-grade B team defeated Pittsburg, 18-5.

Dakylan Hampton poured in 13 points as L-E's 7th-grade A team defeated Pittsburg, 54-14.

Damian Henderson chipped in 12 points, and Jakeen Butler added 11 points.

Kendrail Collins scored 19 points as L-E's 7th-grade B team defeated Pittsburg, 41-5.

Markeith Thomas and Parker Goodman scored 10 point apiece for the Leopards.
