PG eighth-graders drub Pitt

Jackson Cobb lit up the nets for 22 points, and Pleasant Grove's 8th-grade A team romped Pittsburg 69-25 at Hawk Gym Monday.
Layton Jackson swished in 16 points, Ben Harmon scored 13, and Jaime Lewis added 10 for the Hawks (12-2, 10-1).
Antonio Watkins had a game-high 10 points as PG crushed the Pirates, 38-6, in the 8th-grade B game.
Marcus Burris pumped in 11 points, and teammate Sam Bradshaw chipped in 10 as the Hawks' 7th-grade A team finished perfect for the season at 14-0 and 12-0 in district.
Trent Morris poured in 10 points, and PG's 7th-grade B team cruised to a 41-3 victory.
The Hawks' 8th A, 8th B, and 7th A teams are district champions.

ATLANTA, Texas-Rakeem Harris spun in 12 points to lead Liberty-Eylau's 8th-grade A team over Atlanta 43-29.
Jack Dedner had a team-high eight points, but the Leopards lost to Atlanta's 8th-grade B team 21-17.
Four Liberty-Eylau players scored in double figures, and Atlanta fell, 55-41, in the 7th-grade A game.
Takaylon Hampton led all scorers with 17, Jakeem Butler ripped in 14, Damian Henderson scored 11, and Isaiah Hill helped out with 10 points for L-E.
Kentraile Collins had the hot hand as he scored 13 points in the Leopards' 33-8 win in the 7th-grade B game.

Redwater, Red Lick split
RED LICK, Texas-Redwater's 7A team won, but the 7B squad lost Monday.
Logan Johnson scored 10 for the 7A Dragons who beat Red Lick 36-19.
In the 8A game, Red lick's Sam Hacker had 10 in a 27-18 win.
Redwater won the 8B game, 15-14.

Queen City takes two close ones
QUEEN CITY, Texas-Queen City's 8A team locked down a district title by eking out a one-point win over Mount Vernon.
Dylan Scott's eight points led the Bulldogs in a 27-26 win.
Queen City's 8th graders improved to 11-3, 9-1 in district with one game to play.
The Bulldog 7A squad also won, 28-27, behind 12 points apiece from Vonte Frank and Derrick Alexander. The 7th graders are 8-6, 6-4 in district.
In a game of combined 7th and 8th graders, Queen City won 16-10.

Girls

Genoa drops last one of year
HORATIO, Ark.-Laykin Smallwood turned in a 20-point performance, but Genoa Central fell to Cossatot River,37-32, in the junior high tournament.
Jade Richardson led Cossatot River with 16 points. This was the last game of the season for the Lady Dragons.
