Genoa Central ends Spring Hill's streak

GENOA, Ark.-Genoa Central snapped Spring Hill's 17-game winning streak by routing the Lady Bears, 76-54, Friday night at Dragon Gym.

The Lady Dragons had five players in double-figures.

Eden Crow led the Dragons with 23 points, Gracie Water had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Kelsie Sanders also had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds,Victoria Hill poured in 15 points, and Callie Beckham added 12 points.

The Dragons led at halftime by three points and outscored the Bears in the second quarter 27-13.

Lacy Knock topped the Bears with 17 points, and Mallory Kidd chipped in 12.

Genoa Central finishes the regular season with a 24-4 record.

Hot Springs Lakeside 54, Hope 32

HOPE, Ark.-Hot Springs Lakeside went on a 12-2 second-quarter run to defeat Hope in 5A-South Conference action in the Lady Cats' gymnasium.

The Lady Rams (11-8, 5-6) were led by Lexi Tejeck with 19 points, Tatum Rice added 15, and Gaylyn Bellamy 14. Christie Randle topped Hope (4-12, 2-8) with nine points.

Lakeside also converted 13 of 16 free throws while the Lady Cats made 5 of 12.

Cooper 63, New Boston 45

COOPER, Texas-Monica Stevenson had the hot hand for Cooper as she scored 22 points, and the Lady Bulldogs won the play-in game that determined playoff seeds.

Madison Thomas had a double-double for New Boston as she scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Thomas added seven steals.

Sydnye Worden helped keep Cooper in the lead with an 18-point performance.

New Boston plays Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill in its bi-district playoff game Monday at 6 p.m. at Mount Pleasant's Willie Williams Gym.
