Hope defeats Hot Springs Lakeside, 68-51

HOPE, Ark.-Markel Haynie popped in 20 points, and Erin Johnson added 15 to power the Bobcats to the 5A-South Conference win, 68-51.

Hope (15-7, 7-3) jumped out to an 18-8 first-quarter lead and expanded it to 36-13 by intermission.

Kelen Blande had 16 points, Tanner Rice added 15, and Adrine Wilson 11 for Hot Springs Lakeside. All three made a pair of 3-pointers for the Rams (8-15, 5-6).

Bradley 90, Fouke 45

BRADLEY, Ark.-Bradley, a Class A school, built a 59-21 halftime cushion and coasted to the win over the Class 3A Panthers.

The Bears (16-10) had four players in double figures, led by Jaylen Ikegulu with 18, followed by Jim Taylor with 15, and Jack Cornell and Mark Hamilton with 14 each. Ikegulu made a pair of 3-pointers.

Arin Green paced Fouke with 16 points, including a pair of treys.

Bradley will face Taylor at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the District 7A-East tournament at Emerson. Bradley tied for second place in the league behind regular-season champion Emerson (29-0).

Hooks 61, New Boston 44

NEW BOSTON, Texas-Lane Bricker had a game-high 16 points as Hooks defeated New Boston at Lion Gym.

Hooks came out on fire and outscored New Boston 29-8 in the first quarter and never looked back.

George Johnson chipped in 16 points for the Hornets.

Dentrey Copeland scored 14 points and Zach Gooden added 10 points for the Lions.

Nathaniel Estell scored 10 points as Hooks junior varsity defeated New Boston, 52-32. Shane Hamilton scored 10 points for the Lions.

Clarksville 72, Avery 55

CLARKSVILLE, Texas-Clashon Gaffney poured in 22 points as Clarksville defeated Avery at Tiger Gym.

Clarksville got off to a hot start in the first quarter outscoring Avery 20-8 and never looked back.

Keyshon Moore and Quintin Wallace scored 13 points for the Tigers.

Alan Jackson led all scorers with 25 points for the Bulldogs, and Gage Berry chipped in 10 points.

McLeod 58, Hawkins 36

HAWKINS, Texas-JR Smith led all scorers with 22 points as McLeod defeated Hawkins at Hawk Gym.

Colby Smith hit six 3-pointers and scored 18 points, Bradley Lambeth chipped in 12 points for the Longhorns.

Dagan Keener scored 17 points as McLeod's junior varsity defeated Hawkins, 45-29. Blake Williams and Zach Mauldin added 13 points apiece for the Longhorns.

DeKalb 55, Chisum 37

PARIS, Texas-Gunner Baxley hit five treys en route to a 17-point performace as DeKalb crushed Chisum at Mustang Gym.

Jovan Forte chipped in 16 points for the Bears.

Ron Puckett led the Mustangs with 12 points, and Peyton Flippen added 10 points.
