Area boys, girls teams to begin regional tourneys

Several area girls and boys teams will compete in four Arkansas basketball regional tournaments that begin play today.

The 1A Basketball Regional will take place at Caddo Hills High School in Norman. On the boys side Kirby will take on Trinity Christian today at 8:30 p.m. Caddo Hills will take on Bradley on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

On the girls side Bradley will face off against Acorn at 4 p.m. Thursday and Trinity Christian will take on Caddo Hills at 7.

The 2A Basketball Regional is at Lafayette County High School in Stamps. In boys play today, Strong will face Dierks at 5:30 p.m. and Blevins will take on Bearden at 8:30.

On Thursday Mineral Springs will take on Dermott at 5:30 p.m. and Junction City will take on Foreman at 8:30.

On the girls side, Rison will take on Dierks at 4 p.m. today and Foreman will battle it out against Woodlawn at 7. On Thursday, Spring Hill will face Strong at 4 and Junction City will take on Mineral Springs at 7.

The 3A Basketball Regional is at Centerpoint High School in Amity.

In boys action today, Smackover will take on Genoa Central at 8:30 p.m. Prescott will take on Fordyce at 8 Thursday night.

On the girls side, Genoa Central will take on Drew Central on at 4 this afternoon. and Horatio will face McGehee at 7.

The 4A Basketball Regional will take place at Dumas High School.

On Thursday for the boys, Ashdown will face Dollarway at 5:30 p.m. and Nashville will take on Dumas at 8:30. On the girls side, Nashville will play Dumas at 7 Thursday night.
