Northeast Texas playoff games, series slated

The remainder of the UIL playoff games were set late Monday and Tuesday for Northeast Texas softball and baseball teams.

In the Class 3A softball area round, Redwater faces Lone Oak in a best-of-three series at Pine Tree in Longview. Game 1 is at 7 p.m. Friday, and the second game will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday. A third game, if needed, will follow the completion of Game 2.

Hughes Springs faces Van Alstyne in a home-and-home series, starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hughes Springs. The second game will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday at Van Alstyne, with the rubber game, if needed, to follow.

In the 4A state baseball playoffs, Pleasant Grove and Tyler Chapel Hill play in a single-elimination game at 7 p.m. at Driller Park in Kilgore.

In the 3A playoffs, Hooks and Queen City play a single-elimination game at 7 p.m. at George Dobson Field.

DeKalb and Linden-Kildare match up in a series, starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Jim Grubbs Field in Linden. The series moves to DeKalb for Game 2 at 1 p.m., with a third game to follow, if needed.

A change in New Boston's and Hughes Springs' baseball bi-district series has the teams meeting in the opener at Northeast Texas Community College on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Game 2 is set for 12:30 p.m. at New Boston, with a third game to follow, if needed.
