Inbee Park shot a 5-under-par 67 Saturday and leads by three strokes in the LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Usrey went out and recruited pitchers first.

"Last year in five or six-game tournaments, we ran out of pitching," Usrey said. "This time I made sure that we would have enough pitchers."

East Texas has nine pitchers on its roster. Some of the starting pitchers this season will be Philip Sissons, BJ Hammonds, Nate Gibbons and Aaron Stanford.

Usrey says that Sissons, Hammonds, Gibbons, and Alex Bruce are the leaders of the team.

"Each of them are the best players on their respective high school teams," the Broncos coach said. "They lead by example. They speak up and encourage other players. They also lead with their play on the field."

The East Texas head coach just finished his second year at Texarkana College, majors in education and wants to become a high school baseball coach.

Usrey says there is no place he'd rather be than on the baseball diamond.

"I enjoy helping the players be the best they can be," he said. "I think we'll be very competitive. Last year we finished above .500, and this season's squad is more talented."
