The Hasan case prompted a slew of finger-pointing among government agencies over why more action wasn't taken when red flags appeared, particularly his e-mail contact with a radical cleric in Yemen. AT STAKE: Class 3A area crown.

LAST ROUND: The Hornets swept Paris Chisum, and Beckville beat Gladewater Sabine in four.

LINEUP: Abigail Russ, OH; Lexie Frachiseur, MB; Kenley Kyles, setter; Rachel Latimer, OH; Brandi Hout, DS; Emma Farquhar, libero; Daycoria Meadows, MB.

COACH'S COMMENTS: Hooks' Brandy Crawford-"We played Beckville early in the year at the Longview tournament. They're a good solid club; we're going to have to step it up.

"We had some good performances from our front line (against Chisum) and pretty solid defense. We were a little nervous but recovered real well. It was the first playoff experience for some of these girls; we're very diverse with our veteran players and younger girls. I told them to give it all you've got."

NEXT ROUND: The winner advances to play either Elysian Fields or Chapel Hill in the regional quarterfinals.
