Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/BENJAMIN KRAIN --08/5/2013-- Maumelle High School Color Guard members, from left, Sarah Forsythe, Katelyn Talley, Kashana Dunbar-Williams and Grace Ann Albright practice with team mates Monday at the school during the first day of a week-long band camp for the 90 students taking band classes at Maumelle High School.

KICKOFF: 7 p.m., Razorback Stadium

LAST YEAR: The Panthers won, 48-21.

LAST WEEK: Benton routed Siloam Springs, 63-0, and Arkansas High fell to Lake Hamilton, 34-17.

GAME FACTS: The Razorbacks lead the series, 9-6, but the Panthers have won four in a row against AHS. Benton has averaged 42.6 points per game and allowed just 15.2, which is what Arkansas High has scored per game, while giving up 32.6. The Hogs go on the road to Sheridan next week to start a 2-game road trip and return home to Razorback Stadium for the final two games of the regular season. WR Irijah Price leads the AHS scoring with four TD grabs, and RB DeJordan Mask has 50 carries for 247 yards and two scores. Price has 35 receptions for 393 yards.

COACHES' COMMENTS: Benton's Brad Harris-"We feel like we're getting better each week, and that's the key. We stumbled the week before against Russellville and had some turnovers. We bounced back against Siloam, and we were really clicking offensively and defensively. We've improved every week, other than the one when we had the turnover problem, and I'm real pleased with the way we're practicing and
playing right now.

"Defensively, we have to be able to fly to the football and make plays because Texarkana is so quick and aggressive. We're going to have to play well and not make a lot of mistakes; they have so much team speed. How we handle their speed is a big key for us."

Arkansas High's Todd Ledford-"Benton is another good football team and has won as many games as probably anyone else the last two or three years. They played in the finals a couple years back; they've got a solid program going. They're similar to Greenwood and we've got to reverse our mindset from option (last week against Lake Hamilton) back to the spread on the defensive side. They'll bring some pressure to try and get you behind the chains with some negative plays, and so we've got to do a good job handling that and our assignments."
