The more experienced team won.

Liberty-Eylau was swept by a more seasoned Paris team, 25-22, 25-20, 25-12 Tuesday at the Rader Dome.

"Anytime you have a loss like tonight, it's hard," Lady Leopard head coach Latasha Harris said. "It's hard on the team and on you as a coach. But I am excited because this is my first year as a varsity volleyball coach, and the girls are young. I have no seniors, and I have nowhere from here to go but up. I am lucky to have girls that work hard every day."

Derrica Henderson dove to the floor and hit a winner for Liberty-Eylau's seventh point of the first set. A few points later, teammate Kayla Norris smacked a kill down the back baseline for a point.

Kyana Norman and Amoiya Gentry combined for a block on the next point to make it 11-10 in favor of the Leopards. But the Lady Wildcats won seven of the next 10 points to go up, 17-14.

Norris hit a kill for Liberty-Eylau later in the set to bring the Leopards to within one, 20-19. L-E committed four hitting errors in the final eight points, while Paris had two.

The Wildcats jumped out to a seven-point lead in the second set. Taylor Crabtree finessed a tip to the left edge of the court to give the Leopards the serve back after a five-point Paris rally.

Kaliyah Thompson took the servers box with L-E down 14-7. Thompson served four in a row to bring the Leopards to within three.

Three different players hit three kills for Paris, and the Wildcats capitalized on Liberty-Eylau's hitting errors to take the second set.

The Leopards failed to string together more than two points in the third set, and Paris cruised to the match victory.

Kelly Cigainero had made 13 assists for L-E, Mariah Coleman had 15 digs, and Crabtree added 13 digs. Thompson paced the Leopards with six service points, while Gentry and Norris put down six kills each.

Gentry had three aces, while teammate Henderson made eight blocks and four kills. Norman added six blocks and slapped down three kills.

Ta'Oni Reynolds led L-E's junior varsity with five service points, but the Leopards fell to Paris, 25-21, 25-19.
