The Lions (3-5, 1-2) welcome the winless Cardinals (0-8, 0-3) for New Boston's final home game of year tonight at 7:30 p.m. They travel to state-ranked and unbeaten White Oak next week to wrap up the regular season.

The Lions are in fourth by themselves in the District 8-3A, Division I standings after toppling Hughes Springs, 42-26, last week.

Philip Sissons and Deandre Dedmon each scored twice for New Boston in the victory, and the defense had five interceptions. Deandre Robinson came up with three picks, and Jon House had a pair of interceptions.

Redwater, which plays at Hughes Springs, could also clinch a postseason berth from 8-3A, DI with a win.

Playoff-bound Hooks, which has an open date next week, can wrap up an outright District 7-3A, Division II title with a win at DeKalb, while there are several teams still in the hunt for the other three playoff spots, including Daingerfield, Paul Pewitt and the Bears.

James Bowie needs one more win for a playoff berth from District 9-2A, Division I, but the Pirates host unbeaten Rivercrest this week after being shut out by Linden-Kildare last week in league play.
