Paul Pewitt downs Lady Pirates

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas-Sallie Sartain served in 16 winners, including two aces and had 22 assists to lead Paul Pewitt over James Bowie, 25-15, 25-8, 25-14, in a varsity volleyball match at Brahma Gym.

Brelee Lawings slapped in 10 service points and put down eight kills, Ebbony Cobbins had nine kills, and Lydia Makowiecki had 10 kills for the Lady Brahmas.

Madison Smith paced the Lady Pirates with six service points.

Dede Jones served in eight points, and Paul Pewitt won the junior varsity match, 25-19, 25-14. Hannah Herron helped out with seven service points for the Brahmas.

 

Queen City bests Maud

MAUD, Texas-Cori Lang had four aces and nine digs as Queen City defeated Maud, 25-18, 25-11, 22-25, 25-14.

Maci Stringer made 22 assists, and teammate Jessica Jones put down seven kills and had three blocks for the Lady Bulldogs.

Payton Beckham served in 12 winners, and Queen City's junior varsity swept the Lady Cardinals, 25-8, 25-5. Kailee Stringer helped out with 11 service points for the Bulldogs.

 

L-K tops Jefferson in four

LINDEN, Texas-Skylar Vaughn and MaKayla Martin served 17 points each as Linden-Kildare beat Jefferson 25-19, 21-25, 26-24, 25-22.

Martin added 28 digs, Vaughn had 16 assists and Jaimya Gaston hammered down 13 kills for the Lady Tigers.

Ky'Marria Perry served in 11 for Jefferson, and teammate Jamya Smith had 10.

Danielle Campos served in 12 winners and the Tigers' junior varsity won 26-24, 25-19.

Linden-Kildare lost the ninth-grade match, 25-20, 25-6.

 

Golf

 

Hogs place second

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.-Ethan Eppinette shot an 80 for Arkansas High, and the Hogs finished in second place with a 351 at Diamondhead golf course.

Eppinette was third place medalist, while Hot Springs Lakeside's Caleb Lloyd won with a 74. The Rams won the contest with a 324.

Dylan Adcock shot an 85 for Arkansas High, Mason May carded a 95, Matt Roberts a 96, Hank Harrelson a 97, Corbin Thompson a 104, and Reece Jones withdrew.
