KICKOFF: 7 p.m., Cardinal Stadium

LAST YEAR: The last meeting was in 2005, a 28-27 win by Fairview.

LAST WEEK: Arkansas High was stopped short on a fourth-and-goal at the 2 late in the game during a 17-14 loss to Pleasant Grove. Fairview evened its record with a 34-29 win over Hamburg.

GAME FACTS: Jake Monden is in his first year as head coach at Camden Fairview. Previously he was the defensive coordinator at El Dorado, in the same conference as Arkansas High. The Cardinals lead the all-time series against the Razorbacks, 3-2. Fairview lost its opener to El Dorado, 34-7, while AHS fell to Texas High, 37-7. This is the final non-conference tuneup for both teams, Arkansas High traveling to Greenwood next week to open 6A-West play and the Cardinals hosting Hot Springs Lakeside in the
5A-Southwest opener.

COACHES' COMMENTS: Arkansas High's Todd Ledford-"Camden is a lot like us; they're going to have guys at every spot who are very fast and athletic. They've got a new football coach, and you can tell they're doing some of the things Coach (Jake) Monden did at El Dorado, defensively. Offensively, they're a spread football team, and they've got some guys who can hit the home run at running back, the quarterback, two big receivers, who give us a match-up problem because of their height.

"Defensively, they run around to the football. This will be our first road challenge. We played at Grim, but that's just across town. This is the first road trip for this bunch."

Fairview's Jake Monden-"Arkansas High is probably one of the best 0-2 teams I've seen on film; they've played a really tough non-conference schedule. Coach Ledford has a lot of really talented kids. They're very active up front and very athletic at the skill positions. They have the ability to score any time they touch it, and that frightens you as a coach.

"You look at them defensively, and they're always solid; they do a great job with their kids, and they play hard. I would like to see us get off to a good start early, maintain the line of scrimmage and take care of the football. That's key for us to be in the thick of this game."
