The Rattlers (1-2) look to even their record after dropping a 67-14 loss against Hampton last week.

Lafayette County has given up an average of 28 points per game, while Murfreesboro has surrendered 41 points per game. The Cougars are scoring an average of 16 points per outing, and the Rattlers score 18.6 points per game.

Against Parkers Chapel, Lafayette County sophomore quarterback Martavious Miller hit on 10 of 19 passes for 152 yards but threw two interceptions.

One of Miller's passes went to electrifying senior receiver Cualan Williams for a 60-yard gain. Williams made four grabs for 81 yards for an average of 20.3 yards per catch.

Senior Kleavius Johnson made four catches for 59 yards for Lafayette County.

Lepatrick Miller was the Cougars' leading rusher as he gained 86 yards on just three carries and scored one touchdown. One of Miller's carries went for 58 yards. Senior Stephon Cooper ran six times for 56 yards for an average of 9.3 yards per tote.

Lafayette County runs a balanced offense but has had difficulty getting the ball to all-league receiver Williams.

Murfreesboro had trouble stopping the run against Hampton. The Rattlers allowed 548 rushing yards, but look to improve their run defense against an athletic Cougar backfield.

Next week, Lafayette County hosts Spring Hill, while Murfreesboro hosts Mount Ida.
