COACH JOSH GIBSON'S COMMENTS: "Offensively against Gilmer, it was the best game we have played all year. We didn't put up a lot of points because we made mistakes in the red zone. We fumbled a snap on a first-and-20 that killed a drive, and we didn't score twice inside the five, when we had opportunities to do so. Outside of those mistakes, we played really, really well. We played a lot harder and a lot more physical.
"On Defense, we played faster and rallied to the ball more. We held a Gilmer team that was averaging over 50 points a game, to a season low of 31. I think our kids played really, really hard and got better. I think that will help us for the rest of district play. Gilmer is in the driver's seat and if we had converted those opportunities we had, it could have been a 31-24 game. And maybe they could have converted more too. But we played really tough and close. If we play that way and keep growing then we'll be fine."
