Liberty-Eylau put it all together against Paris.

The Lady Leopards played nearly flawless behind young pitcher Bella Gunderson, who hurled a 3-hitter, and L-E banged out 12 hits during an 11-0 run-rule victory over the Lady Wildcats Tuesday at H.E. Markham Park to start the second half of District 14-4A play.

The Leopards (4-2 district) scored in every inning, including six in the fourth when they sent 10 batters to the plate and managed seven hits.

Gunderson had four strikeouts, walked two and hit a batter, needing just 63 pitches to work five innings in the circle.

Paris freshman Saya Swain absorbed the loss. She had six strikeouts in four innings, and L-E managed 12 hits and 11 runs-nine earned.

"In just about every game we've been in, we've had a bad inning, and we didn't have that tonight; they played a complete game," Liberty-Eylau coach Todd Tipton said. "That's where we want to be at this point. We play at North Lamar Friday, and that's one we have to be on our toes for.

"Paris has a good pitcher, and I was a little concerned coming in. The girls responded well. They stayed off her high stuff, made adjustments at the plate, and hopefully we can carry this into Friday."

A dropped third strike allowed the Leopards' leadoff batter to reach in the first, and Keeley Norris followed with a single over the third baseman's head. A double steal set up Savannah Phelps racing home on another passed ball, and Norris scored on an error to make it 2-0.

Gunderson singled to right, and courtesy runner Rayanne Stivers moved up on a passed ball, to third on a wild pitch and scored on another mishanded pitch by the catcher.

Mckenzye Williamson singled in a run for the Leopards in the third, and she scored on a wild pitch.

In the fourth Liberty-Eylau had the chance to put the game away early.

Kayla Norris led off with a single to short left, and Keeley Norris legged out an infield hit. Tori Foster had an RBI single to right, and Williamson dropped a hit into shallow left-center field. Foster scored on a throwing error on Williamson's hit, and Williamson came home on a wild pitch.

M.J. Coleman also lined a hit to center, moved up on Gunderson's single to left, took third on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch to give L-E the 10-run cushion for the run rule. Gunderson came around on Tyrah Venable's grounder up the middle.

Coleman and Williamson each had a double and single for the Leopards, and Keeley Norris and Gunderson added two singles each.
