Liberty-Eylau's Darian Walker eyes a pitch that is high of the strike zone Tuesday during their game against Paris at Leopard Field at H.E. Markham Park in Texarkana, Texas.

Paris evened its and Liberty-Eylau's District 14-4A baseball records.

The Wildcats broke a 2-game slump in league play by withstanding the Leopards, 6-3, Tuesday at H.E. Markham Park as both teams moved to 2-2.

Zack Norris worked six innings to earn the win for Paris. He allowed seven hits and three runs-two earned-struck out 12 and hit a batter. The Leopards brought the potential tying run to the plate against Norris in the sixth after Tre Hodge singled in a pair, and L-E also had the potential tying runs at the dish in the seventh against reliever Corey Allen, who hit two and struck out one to end the threat.

Garrett Brooks absorbed the loss for Liberty-Eylau. He was touched up for six runs-five earned-on nine hits in 5-plus innings, striking out three and hitting one. Bryan Moore pitched two innings of 2-hit ball to finish the game.

"We put some good offense on him (Norris) in the first two innings, and then innings 3, 4 and 5, it seemed two guys touched the ball-the pitcher and catcher," Liberty-Eylau coach Zach Fowler said. "When you let that happen for nine outs at a time, you're not going to win a game.

"We still can't create that big inning. We're getting 1s and 2s right now, and we haven't had a big inning-3-plus runs-since Atlanta. Until we start getting big innings and start clicking again, we're not going to win a lot of games, not in this district."

Liberty-Eylau left 10 on to match Paris' 10 stranded runners. Brooks stranded the bases loaded in the first and fourth after giving up a run in each frame.

Cutter Webb singled in Ethan Brooks, who had singled with two outs in the bottom of the first, for the Leopards to tie the game. Paris scored five runs in a row before Webb's leadoff single in the sixth, and a 2-base error on Triston Brooks' hard-grounder to third. Hodge lined a single to right to make it 6-3, and a bunt single by Darian Walker put two on with two out before strikeout No. 12 for Norris.

Norris gave the Wildcats the early lead with his single up the middle after Phillip Sikes tripled with two outs. Sikes doubled to start the fifth and two runs scored on Jack Davidson's single to left to make it 4-1.

Sikes was 2 for 3 with his triple and double, and Davidson had three singles for Paris.

Webb led the Leopards with three singles.
