Pitcher Bailey Daniel struck out 7 in the contest, leading the way to victory. Atlanta led 2-1 after the top of the third, only to see the Vandals score four unanswered runs and seal the victory.
Rachel Thomas and Moe Benge each went 2-3 to lead Vans' offense, while Victoria Berget went 3-4 and Alyssa Simmons went 2-4 and pitcher Kayvee Kelly struck out 5 in a losing effort for the Rabbits.
Game 2 will be played at 7:30 tonight in Greenville, with Game 3 (if necessary) to follow after a brief intermission.
