Arkansas High beats Maud

MAUD, Texas-Arkansas High defeated Maud in four sets, 25-18, 25-17, 26-28, 25-20.

Makenna Ivey led the Lady Backs with 14 service points, 17 digs and three kills.

Tatiyana Johnson had 25 digs and two service points, while Megan Holder added 12 kills and three blocks.

Jasmine Simmons had 13 service points, one kill and six digs. Brooklyn Brewer added eight kills and seven service points.

Jasmine Benson chipped in seven kills, eight digs and four service points.

Tierra Holliman added 19 assists, 11 service points and six digs for Arkansas High.

The Lady Backs are 1-0 overall and play at Ashdown on Monday. Arkansas High's first home match is on Tuesday, hosting Arkadelphia.

 

Redwater, L-K split

REDWATER, Texas-Redwater swept Linden-Kildare in volleyball at home on Tuesday.

Redwater won the varsity contest against Linden-Kildare, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17. Makayla Martin led L-K with 7 service points. Bella Fernandez led the Lady Dragons with 11 service points.

Bailey O'Bannon chipped in eight kills and three blocks. Karley Morrow chipped in eight kills and Bethanee Calicott added 12 assists for the Lady Dragons. Ally Walston finished with 14 digs.

Redwater is back in action at the Paris Chisum Tournament on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The Lady Dragons are 7-2 overall.

Redwater defeated L-K in the junior varsity 'B' contest, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21. Kendall Wells led the Linden-Kildare attack with 15 service points. Sydney Hornbuckle led the Lady Dragons with 14 service points.

Redwater on the junior varsity 'A' match, 26-24, 25-15. Jaici Smallwood led L-K with six service points. Karsyn Graf led the Lady Dragons with 13 service points.

 

North Lamar sweeps Avery

PARIS, Texas-North Lamar defeated Avery, 25-13, 25-18, 25-16.

Cassidy Kelsoe led the Lady Bulldogs with five service points, two aces, 12 assists, and four kills.

Avery fell to North Lamar in the junior varsity contest, 25-22, 25-10.

Ashten Simington led Avery with five service points.

 

James Bowie, Union Hill clash

SIMMS, Texas-James Bowie defeated Union Hill in a barn-burner, 25-21, 14-25, 24-26, 25-15, 15-9.

Ravyn Hillis added six kills for James Bowie. Emily Latham chipped in 11 assists and 18 service points. Malloy Hammonds finished with 10 digs for the Lady Pirates.

James Bowie won the junior varsity match against Union Hill, 22-25, 26-24, 25-15.

Jaycee Littleton led all scorers with 16 service points.

 

Detroit sweeps DeKalb

DETROIT, Texas-Detroit defeated DeKalb at home, 25-5, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23.

Evette Martinez led DeKalb with 11 service points.

Detroit won the junior varsity contest against DeKalb, 25-16, 25-20.

Adrianna Hendricks led the Lady Bears with seven service points.

Detroit won the Freshman contest versus DeKalb, 25-16, 25-19, 15-10.

Harley Leavings led DeKalb with nine service points and Gracie Meister chipped in eight.

 

New Boston, Chapel Hill split

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas-New Boston defeated Chapel Hill in the varsity match, 21-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23.

Grace Duffer led all scorers with 23 service points for the Lady Lions.

McKenzee Thomas added six kills, Morgan McAlexander chipped in four blocks and Carlee Ratcliff finished her night with 17 digs for New Boston.

New Boston won the junior varsity contest versus Chapel Hill, 25-10, 25-10.

Haley McAlexander led the Lady Lions with 10 service points.

Chapel Hill defeated New Boston in the Freshman contest, 25-11, 25-23.

Jenna Henson led New Boston with 12 service points.

The Lady Lions are back in action on Friday, hosting Pleasant Grove at 4:30 p.m.

 

Lady Brahmas sweep Atlanta

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas-Ebbony Cobbins smashed 19 kills and served 11 points for Paul Pewitt during a 25-13, 25-15, 26-24 win over visiting Atlanta.

Brelee Lawings also had 13 points and 11 kills for the Lady Brahmas, Montana Laney had 15 digs, and Kenzie Traylor added 23 assists, three blocks and five kills. Jacie Crocker had 22 assists.

Alyssa Simmons and Sheveonia Smith had six points each for the Lady Rabbs.

Pewitt won the junior varsity 'A' match, 26-24, 22-25, 25-9, with Kailyn Jones serving 17 points. Charmya Heath had nine points, and Hannah McGee eight.

Atlanta won the JV 'B' match, 25-13, 25-20. Corinne Wood served seven points for PP, and Kasi Cliffton had 5 points

 

D'field tops Clarksville

DAINGERFIELD, Texas-Daingerfield took a 4-set win over Clarksville, 25-17, 25-21, 27-29, 25-22, as both teams opened the season.

Daingerfield seniors Ellixandria Walker (9 kills, 5 block, 17 points, 5 aces), Monnora Sok (12 points, 1 ace, 3 digs), Kahleyia Johnson (2 kills), and Dee Hall (10 points, 2 aces, 5 digs) led their teammates in victory. Also contributing for Daingerfield were juniors Destiny Hurndon (5 kills), Trinity Blythe (8 digs), Lemerica Alexander (3 kills), Makayla Robinson (10 points, 3 aces, 10 assists), and Tre Howard (18 points, 6 aces, 12 assists).

Daingerfield won the junior varsity, 25-10, 27-25. DeSiree Coffey (16 points, 7 aces, 2 kills), and sophomores Jahkayla Doddy (6 points, 3 aces, 4 assists), sophomore Mikayla Roberson (3 kills, 6 points, 4 assists) led the winners.
