Lady Bulldogs build early lead, top McLeod

QUEEN CITY, TexasQueen City jumped to a 24-12 halftime lead, en route to a 45-30 victory over the McLeod Lady Longhorns Tuesday.

The second half of this game was very competitive, but the damage was already done. The Lady Bulldogs were led by a big game from Jacie Lance, as she scored 22 of the 45 Lady Bulldog points.

Jillian Ellis led the Lady Longhorns in a losing effort.

 

De Queen 62, Hope 41

HOPE, Ark.De Queen came to town, jumped on the Lady Bobcats right out of the gate en route to a blowout win. The Lady Leopards had a 26-point first quarter and never looked back.

The Lady Leopards were led by three players in double figures. Abby Dykes led the way with 15 points which included 3 3-pointers. Josie Burke added 13, and Ashley Dykes had 2 3-pointers on her way to a 10 point outing.

Ranayzia Miller led the way for the Lady Bobcats with 12 points, including 2 3's and Andria Curtis also chipped in 10 points in the loss.

 

New Boston 63, Maud 23

MAUD, TexasNew Boston got off to a fast start on their way to a rout of the Lady Cardinals.

A 23-4 second quarter sealed the Lady Cardinals' fate, as the Lady Lions never let up off the gas.

Grace Duffer had her shooting touch on display, leading the Lady Lions with 15 points on 5 3-pointers. Hailee Nero added 14 for the Lady Lions in the win.

 

Paul Pewitt 53, James Bowie 25

OMAHA, TexasPaul Pewitt pitched a first quarter shutout en route to a thrashing of the Lady Pirates.

The Lady Brahmas led 30-6 at halftime and cruised to a big win over the Lady Pirates. Ebbony Cobbins led the way once again for the Lady Brahmas with 29 points, and Calli Osmon added 11 for the winners.

 

Avery 54, Avinger 17

AVERY, TexasAvery got off to a fast start, taking a 34-8 lead to the locker room, before outscoring the Lady Indians 20-9 in the second half to complete its rout of the Lady Indians.

Jill Whitney led the Lady Bulldogs, outscoring the whole Lady Indian team with a 27-point outing, including 4 3-pointers.

Lourdez Perez led the Lady Indians with 13 points in a losing effort.

 

Fouke 71, Bradley 48

FOUKE, Ark.Fouke jumped on the visiting Lady Bears early and often in this contest which saw the Lady Panthers take a 45-18 halftime lead, and they were never really tested in this contest.

Taylor Hardin scored 26 points, including three 3s to lead the Lady Panthers, while Lakyn Smallwoed had 17 and Hannah Mauldin added 14 points and 13 boards for the Lady Panthers.

Tyesha Harris was the game's leading scorer, scoring 27 for Bradley in a losing effort.

Fouke's junior high girls also won by a score of 27-20 over the Bears. Annsley Griffith scored 11 for the Panthers, and Billendria Harris led Bradley with 13 points.

 

Linden-Kildare 31, Big Sandy 23

LINDEN, Texas-Skylar Vaugh, who hit two treys, scored 10 points for Linden-Kildare, and the Lady Tigers defeated Big Sandy.

Jaimya Gaston added eight points and had 12 rebounds for L-K, while teammate MaKayla Martin helped out with 10 boards.

Linden-Kildare (3-8) plays Avery Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Redwater basketball tournament.

 

Boys

Hughes Springs 56, Hawkins 49

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Three Hughes Springs players combined for 36 points as the Mustangs held off Hawkins.

Chandler King led the Mustangs with 13 points, Markees Kemp added 12 and Brennan Dowell had 11.

Everin Gipson led the Hawks with 22 points and scored four 3-pointers. Tristian Garrett added 11 points for Hawkins.

Hughes Springs also won the junior varsity game, 48-27.

 

Linden-Kildare 37, Atlanta 35

LINDEN, Texas-LaDavion Johnson lit up the nets for 15 points as Linden-Kildare edged Atlanta.

The Tigers were down by five points going into the final quarter but outscored the Rabbits 14-7 for the win.

L-K's Ty Patterson had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds, while teammate Marquise Jones pulled down 12 boards.

Charlie Powell paced Atlanta with 11 points, and teammate Daimion Collins added 10.

Linden-Kildare (6-0) plays Redwater Thursday at 5:30 in the Redwater basketball tournament.
