L-K girls hold off Ore City

LINDEN, Texas-Ore City got hot in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as Linden-Kildare stymied the Lady Rebels' late rally to hold on for a 53-52 victory.

Skylar Vaughn scorched the nets for a game-high 27 points, including three 3-pointers, and teammate Siarra Johnson added 11 for the Lady Tigers (6-11, 1-1). Jaimya Gaston collected 15 rebounds.

Ore City's Kiley Miller finished with a team-high 21 points.

 

Prescott 35, Genoa Central 34

PRESCOTT, Ark.-Going into the fourth quarter down, Prescott sparked a rally and slipped past Genoa Central.

Lacie Nolen finished with a game-high 14 points for the Lady Curley Wolves and teammate Haleigh Wiley added another 10.

Genoa Central's Carly Wood netted 12 points and Victoria Hill had 11.

 

New Boston 66, Redwater 46

NEW BOSTON, Texas-Carleigh Reeves lit up the nets for 15 points to lead the Lady Lions to a 20-point victory over the Lady Dragons in a district game.

Tamiya Smith helped out with 11 points for New Boston, while teammate Chloe Davis scored 10.

Karlee Carmony led all scorers with 23 for Redwater.

New Boston (9-7, 3-0) plays in the Hallsville tournament Dec. 28-30.

 

Avery 40, James Bowie 26

SIMMS, Texas-Jill Whitney poured in 16 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to the win.

Cassidy Kelsoe contributed 11 points for Avery.

Baylee Williams paced the Lady Pirates with 11 points.

 

Daingerfield 46, Hooks 12

DAINGERFIELD, Texas-Mikayla Roberson had a game-high 22 points to go with 13 steals as the Lady Tigers rolled past the Lady Hornets.

Montrevia Durham helped out with eight points for Daingerfield.

Kyasia Williams scored 11 points as the Tigers' junior varsity defeated Hooks, 24-20.

Daingerfield plays at DeKalb on Thursday.

 

Boys

Genoa Central 50, Prescott 48

PRESCOTT, Ark.-Colby Cobb had a game-high 18 points as the Dragons edged the Curley Wolves.

Lawson Michaelis, who knocked down three treys, finished with 12 for Genoa Central.

Quantravious Caldwell poured in 16 points for Prescott, while teammate Ryan Johnson added 14.

 

Hughes Springs 83, DeKalb 48

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Hughes Springs scored 54 points in the first half while holding DeKalb to 20 en route to a huge win.

The Mustangs had four players in double-figure scoring, including a game-high 18 points from Tradarian Craver, Chandler King's 16, Markees Kemp's 14 and Ja'Kobie Craver's 10.

Logan Corbett finished with 18 points for the DeKalb.
