PG drops Greenville, 70-61

PARIS, Texas-Aaron Harmon scored 15 points to lead Pleasant Grove over Greenville, 70-61, at the Paris basketball tournament.

Noah Fawbush scored 12 and teammate Xavier Benson helped out with 11.

Harmon lit up the nets for 16 points as Pleasant Grove defeated Teague, 61-54, in its second game of the day.

Fawbush contributed 11, while Benson scored 10 for the Hawks.

Pleasant Grove plays Willis at 9 a.m. today in the Paris basketball tournament.

 

Louisiana Christian Prep 63, Texas High 56

IDABEL, Okla.-Caleb Wilson scored a game-high 17 points for Texas High, but the Tigers fell to Louisiana Christian Prep at the Idabel Winter Classic basketball tournament.

Kyle Wright lit up the nets for 12 points, while teammate CJ Kelly added 10 for Texas High.

Jaquiz Clark paced LCP with 16 points.

 

Liberty-Eylau 78, Hempstead 52

Trimble Tech 96, Liberty-Eylau 74

LONGVIEW, Texas-Kameron Green poured in 15 points as the Leopards defeated Hempstead at the Longview basketball tournament.

Liberty-Eylau's Decorian Phillips and Talveyion Cooper each had 10.

Phillips paced the Leopards with 24 points against Trimble Tech, but L-E fell.

Isaiah Cross helped out with 14 points for Liberty-Eylau.

 

Prairiland 55, Redwater 54

PATTONVILLE, Texas-Mark Murdock scored 17 points to help Prairiland escape Redwater.

Parker Gravitt poured in 19 points for the Dragons, and Med Kapasi added 12 points.

Redwater won the junior varsity game, 42-37. Garrett Johnson scored 13 and Preston Davis 12 for the Dragons.

Redwater plays Hughes Springs on Thursday, Jan. 4 in its next game.

 

H. Springs 82, L. Christian Heritage 66

Marshall Christian 88, H. Springs 70

ORE CITY, Texas-Hughes Springs split its games in the Ore City Classic on Thursday, beating Longview Christian Heritage and falling to Marshall Christian.

Chandler King finished with a team-high 19 points for the Mustangs against Longview, with teammates Tradarian Craver adding 15 and Bryce Johnston scoring 10.

Hughes Springs' King scored 23 against Marshall. Brennan Dowell added 19 and Johnston finished with 15.

The Mustangs go into today's games with a 13-5 record.

Girls

Pleasant Grove 52, Pine Tree 47

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Monique Walker scored a game-high 19 points to help lift Pleasant Grove over Pine Tree in the Fidelity Communications Classic at Hallsville High School.

Madeline Haak added 17 points for the Lady Hawks, who are now on a seven-game win streak after the victory.

Pine Tree's Essence Washington finished with 16 points.

Pleasant Grove (9-5) will continue the classic today, with a noon game against Center.

 

Liberty-Eylau 66, Marshall 42

Liberty-Eylau 64, Mabank 41

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Liberty-Eylau defeated Marshall and Mabank to post two wins at the Hallsville Classic.

Derrica Henderson led the Lady Leopards with 18 points against Marshall, and teammate Taylor Crabtree added 14.

Crabtree scorched the nets for a game-high 22 points for Liberty-Eylau against Mabank and Eliyah Howard finished with 14.

 

Queen City 49, Avinger 16

AVINGER, Texas-Queen City kept Avinger in single digits each quarter to coast to a 33-point victory.

Jessica Jones led the Lady Bulldogs with 23 points, including four of the team's five 3-pointers.

Avinger's Lourdes Perez finished with 13 points.

Queen City (14-2, 3-0) will host New Boston on Jan. 2.

 

Daingerfield 33, Pine Tree 28

Houston Heights 66, Daingerfield 35

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Mikayla Roberson had 11 points and six steals to help Daingerfield post a win over Pine Tree in the Fidelity Classic at Hallsville High School.

TreShawnti Howard added eight points for the Lady Tigers.

Daingerfield dropped its second game, falling to Houston Heights, 66-35.

Mikayla Roberson led the Lady Tigers with 13 points.

Daingerfield (6-9, 2-2) will be back in action today at the classic, with games against Center and Pittsburg.

 

Hallsville 60, New Boston 53

HALLSVILLE, Texas-New Boston trailed by seven at halftime and didn't make up ground in the second half of a loss to the host Lady Cats in the Hallsville Classic.

Maddison Ford had 19 and Laikyn Smith 18 for Hallsville.

Carleigh Reeves led the Lady Lions with 15 points, and Chlose Davis added 10.

New Boston plays Henderson at 9 a.m. and Spring Hill at 1:30 p.m. today.
