Nine area teams get postseasons started

Nine local and area boys teams get their postseasons underway in the UIL playoffs
Tuesday, joining what girls teams advance Friday in their second round
games.

In the boys bi-district round, Texas High and West Mesquite clash at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Paris High School.

Pleasant Grove faces Wills Point at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon's Tiger Gym in a Class 4A game.

Daingerfield takes on Paris Chisum at 6 p.m. at Rivercrest High School in a 3A contest, and New Boston and Queen City meet Friday to decide the second and third seed from District 14-3A in the playoffs. Paul Pewitt is the fourth seed from the league but awaits the top seed between Mount Vernon and Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill, who tied for the 13-3A title.

Clarksville won 15-2A, McLeod was second and Linden-Kildare tied Rivercrest for third. Those two will meet to decide the third and fourth seeds for the postseason.
