Lions top Queen City, 70-53

NEW BOSTON, Texas-New Boston held on to a close one at home versus Queen City, 70-53, in District 14-3A Tuesday night.

New Boston (4-15, 2-0) was led by Dantray Copeland's team-high 15 points. Deaundre Robinson contributed 14 points for the Lions, and Deandre Dedmon also added 11 points in the New Boston victory.

Austin Lowe led the Bulldogs offensively, scoring 15 points before the final whistle. Easton Fincher also added 10 points for Queen City.

New Boston is back in action on Friday, traveling to Hooks.

 

Daingerfield 56, DeKalb 36

DAINGERFIELD, Texas-Three Daingerfield players scored in double figures, and the Tigers remained unbeaten in District 14-3A play.

Mikah Reeves had 17 points for the Tigers (8-13, 2-0), Reggie Jeter added 12 and Tim Broner contributed 10.

Wyatt Lavergne led the Bears with 10 points.

Daingerfield plays at Hughes Springs Friday.

 

Hughes Springs 55, Redwater 45

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Chandler King (14 points) and Alex Bruce (13) combined for 27 points to help Hughes Springs outlast Redwater in District 14-3A play.

Ja'kobie Craver added 10 for the Mustangs (7-10, 1-1).

Parker Gravitt led the Dragons with 19 points.

HS is home against Daingerfield Friday.

 

McLeod 70, Rivercrest 35

McLEOD, Texas-J.R. Smith ripped the cords for 18 points to lead McLeod to a rout of Rivercrest.

Blake Williams scored 15 points for the Longhorns, and Colby Smith added 14.

 

 

Detroit 45, James Bowie 31

SIMMS, Texas-Detroit defeated James Bowie in clash in varsity boys' basketball.

Cody Roberson led James Bowie (3-8) in scoring, dropping a game-high 15 points.

Wayland Crutchfield and Miles Hines both scored 12 points for Detroit.

James Bowie is back in action on Friday, traveling to Rivercrest.

 

AHS 50, Camden Fairview 45

CAMDEN, Ark.-Arkansas High is continuing their area dominance in varsity boys' basketball, defeating Camden Fairview on the road.

The Hogs (11-3) were led by senior dynamic-duo Kyndal Martin and Taviron Oliver. Martin dropped 15 points and Oliver scored 13 points, in the daunting Razorback road win. Fabian Phillips also found himself with double-digits, scoring 12 points for the Hogs.

Arkansas High is back in varsity boys' action, hosting Magnolia at Razorback Gym.

 

Linden-Kildare 67, Maud 44

LINDEN, Texas-After trailing in the first quarter, Linden-Kildare pulled way the rest of the way for a big win over Maud.

Ja'Kevian Rose scored 19 points for the Tigers, LaDavion Johnson had 18 points, and Ty Patterson scored 16. Cortez Peterson also had 10, and Patterson (18 rebounds) and Rose (16) led on the glass.

Brandon Allison scored 13 for the Cardinals, and Cade Prince added 12.

Maud won the junior varsity game, 35-27. DeShawn Alexander led the Cards with 13 points, and John David Fitts had nine for L-K.

 

Girls

 

Bloomburg 45, C.H.A.A.M.P. 18

BLOOMBURG, Texas-Bloomburg throttled Christian Homeschool Athletic Association of Mount Pleasant in varsity girls' basketball.

Haylee Campbell led the Lady Wildcats offensively, scoring a game-high 17 points in the rout. Teammate Erin Evans contributed 12 points, in the Bloomburg win.

Ella Gaertnrez led the Lady Hawks in scoring, dropping six points on the night.

Bloomburg is back in action on Friday night, hosting Union Hill in its first district game of the season.

 

McLeod 49, Rivercrest 40

McLEOD, Texas-Shelby Davis' 7 3-pointers in the second half propelled the Lady Longhorns past Rivercrest.

Davis finished the night with a game-high 23 points before the final whistle. Tessa Glenn added 13 points in the McLeod win.

Katelyn Womack led Rivercrest offensively, dropping 12 points before her night was finished. Kaitlyn Brown contributed 10 points for Rivercrest.

McLeod (15-6, 3-1) travels to Linden-Kildare on Friday.

McLeod defeated Rivercrest in junior varsity action, 31-23.

Brook Jester led the Lady Longhorns offensively, dropping 10 points.

 

Queen City 60, New Boston 56

NEW BOSTON, Texas-New Boston lost a heart-breaker to Queen City in varsity girls' basketball.

Jessica Jones led all-scorers and her Lady Bulldog squad, pouring in a game-high 31 points in the victory. Jaci Lance also dropped 18 points offensively for Queen City.

Madison Thomas and Chloe Davis each dropped 16 points for the Lady Lions (10-12, 3-1).

New Boston travels to Hooks on Friday to continue varsity action.

 

Camden Fairview 50, AHS 40

CAMDEN, Ark.-The Lady Cardinals slid past Arkansas High in varsity girls' basketball.

Mikeya Haygood led all scorers, dropping a game-high 24 points.

Tiarra Holliman led the Lady Backs offensively, dropping 15 points on the night.

The Hogs are back in action on Friday, hosting Magnolia at Razorback Gym.

 

Genoa Central 42, Ashdown 29

GENOA, Ark.-Genoa Central throttled Ashdown in varsity girls' basketball.

OBU-signee Eden Crow went for a double-double again, snagging 12 rebounds and scoring 12 points. Victoria Hill led the Lady Dragons scoring onslaught, dropping 16 points on the night.

Adaysia Thompson led Ashdown offensively, scoring 13 points before the final buzzer. Lark Wilkerson dropped 12 points for the Lady Panthers.

The Lady Dragons are back in action Friday, traveling to Nashville.

Genoa Central defeated Ashdown in junior high girls' basketball, 25-23.

Donna Jo Rowe led the Lady Dragons offensively, scoring eight points.

Jasmine Smith led her Ashdown squad, dropping eight points on the night.

 

Maud 47, Linden-Kildare 36

LINDEN, Texas-Maud used a 10-point swing in the middle quarters to seal the win over Linden-Kildare.

Bri Hemby scored 12 points for the Lady Cards, and Alex Conkleton added nine.

Jaimya Gaston had 12 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Tigers, and Siarra Johnson scored 10 points.
