New Boston tops Daingerfield

VARSITY

New Boston 52, Daingerfield 27

New Boston got points from all 11 players: Chloe Davis had eight points, Grace Duffer and Carleigh Reeves each having seven points to led the Lady Lions in scoring.

Tre Durham had a season high 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals to lead the Lady Tigers. Kahleyia Johnson had five points, 10 rebounds, and two steals; Dee Hall had four points, four rebounds, and three assists. Kiara Robinson and and Makayla Robinson added 2 points each.

The Lady Lions are currently in second place in District 14 AAA with undefeated Queen City sitting in the top spot. Next up for Daingerfield is hosting Queen City here this Friday.

Daingerfield came out on top for the JV game 31-21 to give the Tigers its first district victory.

Quay Latchison had 12 points, Treshawnti Howard had 12 points, Gekayla Alexander had four points, Jahkayla Doddy had two points, Jamie Nix had one point.

 

SUBVARSITY

Daingerfield tops New Boston

NEW BOSTON, Texas-Daingerfield's Jr.boys team won 38-24 over the Lions.

The Tigers were led by D. Lewis with 19 and A. Delacruz with 7.

Cameron Brayant scored seven for New Boston.

The Tiger's eighth grade team defeated Daingerfield 52-12.

Jamin Powell had 13 points to lead New Boston.

Jacorian Frazier collected six points for Daingerfield.

 

L-E sweeps Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Texas-Liberty-Eylau throttled Pittsburg in 8th grade girls' basketball, 34-12.

Gerrica Arnold steered the Lady Leopards offense, dropping 12 points on the night. Ureka Vaughn added nine points and Tamara Norris chipped in eight points for L-E.

Liberty-Eylau is 7-5 overall for the season.

L-E's 7th grade girls squad defeated the Lady Pirates, 24-5.

Bryana Block led the Lady Leopards rout with nine points. Kayla Crabtree added five points in the win.

L-E is 10-3 overall and 6-0 in district competition.

The Lady Leopards are back in action next Thursday hosting Pleasant Grove.

 

Hooks wins
two of three over Red Lick

HOOKS, Texas-Hooks' 8th grade A team defeated the Mustangs 36-24.

Benji Johnson took point for the Hornets, scoring 10.

Redlicks' leading scorer was Nate Henry with 20.

The Mustangs were able to squeak past the Hooks 7th grade A team 30-29.

Martin Hale led Red Licks' advance with 13.

The Hornets were led by Johnnie Jones with 14.

Hooks' 7th grade B team won 6-7.

 

Texas Middle School
shuts out Marshall

The TMS 8th grade A team won 45-23 at home Thursday night over the Mavericks.

Caleb Arnold and Ben Depriest led the Tigers (10-0) with 12 apiece.

The Tigers 8th grade B team followed suit, winning 40-17.

Christian Surrat had eight points and Trey Lavender added six of his own.

In 7th grade play both Texas Middle School's A and B teams one, 45-22 and 30-20 respectively.

For the A team (9-1), Braylon Stewart led the way with 12, while Jayden Godwin and Sawyer Pritchard both contributed nine.

Zach Hughes took the initiative for the B team racking up 17 points and Brandon Hall tacked on 11 to-boot.

The Tigers' 7th A and 8th A teams will play Friday and Saturday in the Idabel Tournament.

North Heights handles Hope

HOPE, Ark.-North Heights throttled Hope in 8th grade boys' action,
50-17.

Josh Taylor paced the Hogs offensive surge, dropping 13 points during the contest. Eric Flowers added 10 points in the Razorback rout.

The 8th grade Hogs are 6-6 on the season.

North Height's 7th grade squad defeated Hope, 28-21.

Mason Cornelius led all scorers, dropping a game-high nine points for the night.

The Hogs are back in action today at the Idabel Invitational, taking on Paris at 4:30 p.m.

 

Redwater sweeps Paul Pewitt

REDWATER, Texas-Redwater's 8th grade boys' squad defeated Paul Pewitt, 45-30.

Rolan Smith led the Dragons offensively, dropping 18 points. Preston Davis added 16 points for Redwater.

The Dragons are 8-1 overall this season.

Redwater's 7th grade squad beat Paul Pewitt, 42-21.

Malcolm Brown led scorers, pouring in a game-high 24 points for the Dragons. Issac Huckaby and Jonathan Ketchum each chipped in six points.

Redwater's 8th grade B team defeated Paul Pewitt, 26-7.

Brock Sanders led all scorers, dropping a game-high 12 points.

The Dragon's 7th grade B team beat Paul Pewitt, 21-8.

Carson Bowman and Kyle Mandarich each contributed six points in the Redwater victory.

The Dragons are back in action next Saturday at the Red Lick Invitational Tournament.

 

Liberty-Eylau tops Pittsburg

L-E's 8th grade A team dominated the Pirated 35-18.

Samomdre Lewis had eight points, Damian Henderson had seven points, and Isaiah Hill brought in six points.

The 8th grade B team slipped through Pittsburgs' grasp 18-15.

Josh Jenning and Sa'Maj Rose a nickle apiece.

The Leopards' 7th Grade A team won 24-19 over its visitor.

Shawn White collected 10 points and Chris Lewis added five of his own.

L-E's 7th grade B team won handily, 30-8, over the Pirates.

Oren Garr led the way with 11. Leetavation Mathis had eight points and Jayce Banks contributed six.

 

Pleasant Grove wins
four against Paris

The Lady Hawks 8th grade A team won its game 49-13.

Macy Young led the team with 14 points.

PG's 8th grade B team defeated its' visitor 16-11.

Emma Sanderson paved the way with seven points.

Aniyah Allen led the 7th grade A team to a 39-5 victory with eight points.

In the 7th grade B team game, the Hawks came out on top 20-11.

Macy Hadaway was the high point for PG with 6.

 

Red Lick sweeps Hooks

HOOKS, Texas-Red Lick defeated Hooks in 8th grade girls' basketball, 40-18.

Eva Johnson and Peyton Sims each dropped 12 points for the Lady Mustangs. Tatum Haugh added six points in the Red Lick rout.

Reagan Reiter paced Hooks offensively, dropping 10 points on the night.

Red Lick's 7th grade A squad defeated Hooks, 50-14.

Ann Elise Lindsay led all scorers, scoring a game-high 17 points in the rout. Izzy Hackleman dropped eight points and Halli Meredith added six points for Red Lick.

Tiacca Rigsby led the Lady Hornets offensively, scoring six points.

Red Lick and Hook's 7th grade B squads tied, 12-12.

Macey Wright led Red Lick's offensive attack, scoring six points in the contest. Izzy Daniels added four points during the game.

 

McLeod defeats Avery

AVERY, Texas-McLeod squeaked by Avery in 8th grade boys' basketball, 24-16.

Nathan Barker led the Longhorns offensively, scoring eight points before the final whistle. Silas Murdock added six points for McLeod.

The 8th grade Lady Longhorns defeated Avery, 59-32.

Kaitlin Cross paced McLeod, scoring a team-high 16 points during the game. Gracie Lance scored 10 points and Sibbie Comer added 11 points for the Lady Longhorns.

Magie Taylor scored a game-high 19 points for Avery. Olivia Burkett added 10 points before the final buzzer.

McLeod's 7th grade boys' squad throttled Avery, 43-10.

Tyler Williams led all performers, scoring a game-high 23 points. Braden Barker chipped in nine points in the rout.

The 7th grade Lady Longhornes defeated Avery, 28-0.

Cary May led McLeod offensively, scoring 10 points during the rout. Alyssa Hall and McKenzie Bishop, each added eight points during the contest.

 

Hogs fall to Hope

Arkansas High's 9th grade team lost 43-32 to Hope Thursday night.

Fortunate Barry was high point for the Lady Backs with 10. Sydnee Blackwell added eight points of her own.

North Heights won its 7th grade game 24-11 over Hope.

The Lady Backs were led by Larnya Solomon with 11 and Yavunna Foster with six.

In an 8th grade match up North Heights came out on top 27-9.

Mille Henderson and Jacie Collins both scored five points.

 

Texas Middle School
beats Marshall

MARSHALL, Texas-Texas Middle School defeated Marshall Middle school in 8th grade A girls' basketball, 48-21.

Ashlyn Stiger led the Lady Tigers offensively, scoring 16 points.

TMS's 7th grade A squad beat Marshall, 45-11.

Jalym Golette paced the Lady Tigers surge, dropping 10 points.

Marshall fell to TMS's 8th grade B squad, 34-15.

Meghan McHenry led the Tigers offensively, scoring a team-high nine points. D'Aja Dade and Mollie Johnson each contributed eight points.

TMS's 7th grade B squad lost to Marshall, 25-17.

Ellison Davis led Texas Middle School with nine points.

 

POWERLIFTING

Atlanta takes first place in the Hallsville Powerlifting Invitation

HALLSVILLE, Texas-Atlanta claimed first place with 53 points as a team.

In the 123 lb weight class Jordan Prignit placed 2nd with a total of 645 lbs.

In the 132 lb weight class Dalton Johnson placed 2nd with 765 total pounds.

Austin Brown won first place in the 148 lb weight class lifting a total of 820 pounds.

In the 165 lb weight class Clayton Mosley claimed 2nd place with 1040 lbs while Jacob Nash took third third with 935 total pounds.

Nick Cooper finished first in the 198 lb weight class with 1295 total pounds. In the same weight class, Zee Barfoot claimed second place with
1155.

In the 242 lb weight class Tristen Allen brought home first place, lifting 1140. Josh Wiley came in third lifting 955.

In the Super Heavy weight class Dustin Williams finished 3rd lifting a total of 1075 lbs.

Waskom came in second place with 50, Hallsville was third with 33, Carthage was fourth with 25, and Gladewater was fifth with 14.
