Pat Daniels

Pat Daniels of Texas High School was chosen as head coach for the 5A-6A Track/Cross Country Team during the upcoming Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Coach Daniels will lead the coaching duties of 11 All-Star athletes July 11-12 during TGCA Summer Conference and Games in Austin. She will be assisted by coach Sara Sheppard from New Caney High School.

The annual event is sponsored by the TGCA and attracts nationally recognized volleyball, basketball, track and field, cheer, tennis, soccer and softball clinicians. The clinic and All-Star games attract about 10,000 coaches, their families and fans from Texas and surrounding states.

Daniels serves as girls athletic coordinator and track and cross country coach for the Texas High Tigers. During her 32 years with TISD, she has served as middle school coach, elementary physical education and parent liaison at Dunbar Intermediate Center and sponsored the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

TGCA is one of the largest associations of coaches, and the largest association for coaches of girls' athletics, in the United States. Established in 1953, it has more than 7,000 members today and includes coaches and administrators in all levels of education. The association is sanctioned by the Texas University Interscholastic League and certified by the Texas Education Agency. The organization honors athletes and coaches in all sports sanctioned by the UIL.
