Pair of area relays bring track season into full bloom

Track season, like springtime flowers, is in full bloom.

Redwater's Joe Culpepper Relays and Linden-Kildare's Bill Hines Relays begin today at 3:45 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

 

Joe Culpepper Relays

REDWATER, Texas-Dragon Field will play host to 10 high schools vying for gold at Redwater High School's Joe Culpepper Relays
today.

Participating in varsity boys and girls and junior varsity boys competition are host Redwater, Hooks, Pleasant Grove, New Boston, James Bowie, DeKalb, Maud, Daingerfield, Mount Vernon and Christian Homeschool Athletic Association of Mount Pleasant.

Field events begin at 3:45 with the discus, and running events start with the 3200 meter race at 4:30.

Bill Hines Relays

LINDEN, Texas-Eight teams will descend upon Jack Hetherington Stadium to compete in Linden-Kildare's Bill Hines Relays.

Host Linden-Kildare, Hughes Springs, Queen City, Paul Pewitt, Ore City, McLeod, Bloomburg, Jefferson and Union Hill clash for first place in varsity boys and girls events.

Each school except for Bloomburg and Union Hill will compete in the junior varsity boys competition.

Field events start at 3 p.m., and running events later follow at 5:30.
