Trio of Texas High divers make all-state

Three Texas High divers were selected to the UIL Class 5A all-state team, announced recently.

Courtney Lourens in the girls 1-meter dive, and Hunter Burt and Robert Bland III for the Tigershark boys dive team were selected to the 5A all-state second team.

Max Young was an all-state honorable mention in the 200 freestyle and 500 free for Texas High, and the boys 200 freestyle relay was also honorable mention. Giovanni Basurto-Ruiz, Robert Frost, Casey Williams and Young made up the relay.

The THS girls 200 and 400 free relays were honorable mentions, as well. Kristen Clayton, Kaylee Norton, Linley Murdock and Ohemaa Barnes made up the 200 free relay team, and the 400 relay was comprised of Barnes, Norton, Haley Wood and Cathryn Payne.
