New Boston, Redwater set up showdown

New Boston rolled past Paul Pewitt, and Redwater defeated DeKalb to set up a District 14-3A showdown between the Lions and Dragons today at 6:30 p.m. in New Boston.
Both teams are 4-0 in district. New Boston is 10-3 and Redwater is 9-5 on the year.

New Boston 15, Paul Pewitt 2
OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas-Philip Sissons collected three hits and had 4 RBI to lead the Lions to the win.
Isaac Whittington had two hits with an RBI for New Boston, and teammate Jake Bobbitt got the win on the hill.
Dusty Heard clubbed two hits for the Brahmas, while teammate Clayton Vissering doubled.

Peyton Davis scored the lone run on a passed ball.
Redwater's Jamey Vaitkus, Ross, and Justin White were each 1 for 3.
Colby Pennington was 1 for 2, and teammate Ty Brown was 1 for 3 for DeKalb.

GENOA, Ark.-Trevor Wells improved to 3-0, gave up two runs on five hits as Genoa Central edged Prescott.
With the bases loaded in the seventh, the Dragons scored on a wild pitch.
Garrett Cook knocked in a run on a triple for Genoa Central.
Hunter Grimes singled twice, and teammate Kade Pearson added a double for the Curley Wolves (4-3, 1-1).
Tyler Rucker absorbed the loss, allowed just five hits and gave up three runs for Prescott.
The Curley Wolves won the junior varsity game 8-6.
Dylan Turley smacked a double, and Dalton Savell had a single for
the Dragons.
Genoa Central (10-5, 6-1) hosts Horatio at 5 p.m. Friday.

NASHVILLE, Ark.-Dalton Smead belted a grand slam home run during a 10-run first-inning outburst by the Scrappers, who went on to run-rule Fouke at Wilson Park.
Smead also had a single, and Trace Beene was 3 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI for Nashville (8-6).
Tyler Hanson picked up the pitching win with relief from Preston Pope.
Gabe Parker ripped a solo home run and single for the Panthers, finishing with 2 RBI.

Kelsey Mattson was 2 for 3 with two singles and 2 RBI, while teammate Hannah Vanderbilt was 2 for 4 with a pair of singles and 2 RBI for the Lady Dragons.
Abby Martin doubled and had 1 RBI for the Lady Curley Wolves.
