Thompson sparks L-E to big win over DeKalb

Kaliyah Thompson was a force to be reckoned with as Liberty-Eylau cruised to a 71-15 victory over DeKalb on Friday night at the Rader Dome.

Thompson scored a game-high 18 points and brought down eight rebounds for the Lady Leopards, while also grabbing 10 steals on defense. Teammate Eliyah Howard added 13 points, including two three-pointers, and five assists and Daniell Thomas and Keeley Norris each netted nine points.

DeKalb's Katerra Cooper scored six points, and Hailey Dolby and Kynli Holder finished with four apiece.

The Lady Leopards will travel to face crosstown rival Texas High next Friday.

Warriors edge Emerson

Trinity Christian got the best of Emerson in a back-and-forth tilt, taking a 46-43 win.

JR Kemp led the Warriors (5-2) with 18 points, and Jakob Martin added 10 more. Despite the win, TC had problems containing Emerson's Tank Arnold, who scorched the nets for 30 points.

Alex Cobb guided the junior varsity squad to an easy 51-18 win over Emerson. Cobb scored 19 points in the contest, and Emerson's Zack Green finished with five points.

TC's ninth-graders also won, beating Emerson, 16-12.

Mathew Lucky scored four points in the young Warriors' win.
