Fouke defeats Maud, 74-14

MAUD, Texas-Fouke throttled Maud on the road in a varsity non-conference clash on the hardwood, 74-14.

Taylor Hardin led the Lady Panthers offensively with 17 point. Lakyn Smallwood and Hannah Mauldin each recorded double-doubles during the game. Smallwood scored 12 points with 10 boards and Mauldin scored 13 points, while snatching 11 rebounds. River Watkins added 14 points for Fouke in the rout.

Alex Conkleton led Maud with nine points.

Fouke (4-1) is back in action Thursday, hosting Gurdon.

 

Queen City 58, Elysian Fields 38

QUEEN CITY, Texas-Jacie Lance and Jessica Jones each dropped 24 points in a Queen City win over Elysian Fields.

Sami Spears led the Lady Hornets offensively with 12 points and Frankie Boyd added 11 points.

Queen City (6-0) will resume play Thursday in the Chapel Hill tournament.

 

Avery 46, DeKalb 32

DEKALB, Texas-Alexis Coughran's 15 point output was enough to pace Avery past DeKalb on the road.

Cassidy Kelsoe added 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs and Jill Whitney dropped eight points.

Kenley Holder led the Lady Bears with 12 points, and Katerra Cooper added 10 points.

DeKalb is back in action on Thursday at the James Bowie tournament.

McLeod 40, Hughes Springs 33

MCLEOD, Texas-McLeod held off Hughes Springs late in a varsity contest at home.

Selena Moon led the Lady Longhorns with 17 points and Shelby Davis added 14 points.

Calli Stewart led the Lady Mustangs offensively with six points.

The Lady Longhorns will compete in the Union Grove tournament on Thursday, facing Marshall.

McLeod's 7th grade squad defeated Linden-Kildare, 27-18.

Regan Johnson led the Lady Longhorns with 10 points.

McLeod won the 8th grade contest with L-K, 31-12.

Peyton Taylor led the Lady Longhorns with 12 points.

 

Bloomburg 41, James Bowie 29

BLOOMBURG, Texas-Haylee Campbell's game-high 14 points led Bloomburg past James Bowie at home.

Erin Evans poured in 12 points for Bloomburg.

Bloomburg is 6-3 overall.

 

Pittsburg 42, Daingerfield 39

PITTSBURG, Texas-Kiara Robinson scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, but Daingerfield was edged by Pittsburg.

The Lady Tigers' lost the junior varsity game, 30-8.

Daingerfield's varsity will next
participate in the Prairiland tournament.

Boys

Hughes Springs 54, Quitman 49

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Brennan Dowell and Chandler King each poured in 19 points to lead Hughes Springs past Quitman.

Kalen Wilkerson led Quitman's offensive attack with 15 points and Garrett Peek added 12 points.

 

Alba Golden 68, Redwater 51

REDWATER, Texas-Parker Grabitt scorched the nets for a game-high 23 points but it wasn't enough as Redwater fell to Alba Golden.

Dawson Kirk and Zane Smith each scored 16 points in the Panthers' win.

Alba Golden also won the junior varsity game, beating the Dragons, 37-33.

Redwater's Preston Davis scored 10 points.

The Dragons will be back in action at 10:30 a.m. Thursday against Bloomburg in the James Bowie tournament.

 

SUBVARSITY

NHJH sweeps Ashdown

ASHDOWN, Ark.-North Heights eighth-grade squad defeated Ashdown, 52-4.

Laryna Solomon led the Lady Backs with 14 points and Jamiya Montgomery added 10 points.

NHJH won the seventh-grade contest with Ashdown, 37-6.

Samya Flowers led the Lady Backs with 15 points and Seaira Watson drained 14 points.

NHJH host Magnolia Thursday at 5 p.m.
