AHS doubles team win quarters

LITTLE ROCK-Arkansas High varsity girls' doubles team Amy Claire Mugno and Reese Chesshir defeated the team from Searcy, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the state tennis tournament at Burns Park.

The Hogs' doubles team of Matthew Mobley and Patrick Cook lost 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 to the team from Mountain Home.
Mugno and Chesshir face the team from Jonesboro today at 9:30 a.m. at Burns Park.

VOLLEYBALL

PG's 7th A and 8th A district champions

Lucy Woodman served in a match-high 26 points as Pleasant Grove's 8th A team defeated Paris, 25-13, 23-25, 25-12.

With the win the Lady Hawks (17-0) are district champions.

Kelsey Clark served in 10 points to lead Pleasant Grove's 8th B to a 27-25, 11-6 victory.

Kadie James had nine service points as the Hawks' 7th A rolled to a 25-14, 25-9, sweep of the Lady Wildcats. PG's 7th A team finished with a mark of 16-1 and are district champions.

Winter Crouch had 12 service points for the Hawks in the 7th B match, and they split with Paris, 25-19, 15-25.

Pirates, Bulldogs split

SIMMS, Texas-Chloe Caddenhead served in 14 winners as James Bowie's 8th grade swept Avery, 25-21, 25-16.

Madison Martin had six service points for the Lady Pirates in the 7th grade match, but the Lady Bulldogs won, 25-15, 25-16.

Dragons take 3 of 4

REDWATER, Texas-Payton Trujillo served in 12 points to lead Redwater's 8th grade A team over Paul Pewitt, 28-26, 25-11.

Sydney Gentry paced the Lady Brahmas with 12 service points, including five aces.

Brooklyn Collum slapped in 14 service points as Redwater's 8th B defeated Paul Pewitt, 25-15, 25-6.

Hally Taylor had 10 service points as Paul Pewitt won the 7th A match, 25-18, 25-18. Abi Morrow slapped in eight winners for the Dragons.

Jaylen Autrey had 17 service points, and Redwater won the 7th B match, 25-17, 25-7.

Paul Pewitt and the Dragons' 8th A teams finished co-district champions.

Mustangs earn 3 wins

QUEEN CITY, Texas-Karmen Searing served in 10 points to lead Hughes Springs' 8th A over Queen City, 25-17, 25-17.

Hannah Walker slapped in 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Hari Davis and Kylie Dickerson both served in nine points for Queen City, but the Lady Mustangs won the 8th B match.

Landri Beckham slapped in 13 winners as the Bulldogs won the 7th A match, 25-16, 25-9.

Payton Kelley served in four points and Hughes Springs won the 7th B match.

Red Lick sweeps

HOOKS, Texas-Kaylee Tilbury had 10 service points, and Red Lick's 8th A swept Hooks, 25-10, 25-18.

Lindra Burchette had four service points for the Lady Hornets.

Sarah Estes slapped in 10 points to lead the Lady Mustangs' 7th A to a 25-20, 25-21 sweep.

Delaney Edwards served in 17 points as Red Lick and Hooks split the 8th B contest, 25-14, 17-17.

Malachi Dawson had six service points as the Mustangs split the 7th B match, 20-25, 19-16.

Lions' A squads prevail

NEW BOSTON, Texas-Jakquelyn Packard slapped in 12 service winners to lead New Boston's 8th A team to a 25-20, 19-25, 25-12, victory over Daingerfield.

Diamond Jeter paced the Lady Tigers with 14 service points.

Alandrea Walker served in 15 service winners and Kailyn Brown served in 13 as New Boston won the 7th A match, 25-10, 25-13.

Kylah Haley paced Daingerfield with nine service points.
