LAST YEAR: Russellville escaped a scare from the Hogs at Cyclone Stadium on their way to win the state championship, 45-28.
GAME FACTS: Both teams are 2-2 in Conference 6A West contest and each have 18 tiebreaker points apiece. The winner of this game will likely earn a home playoff game. This is the Hogs last home game of the season. Russellville threw its first interception of the season last week against Greenwood.
COACHES' COMMENTS: Arkansas High's Barry Norton-"We have to win the small battles between the lines. A lot of hidden yardage gets lost with the special teams. Russellville takes the Pulaski Academy mentality of onside kicking a bunch. We have to do good in the kicking game this week. They don't punt much and if they do it's from the quarterback."
"I always believe if you win two of the three phases of the game, you'll typically come out with a victory. Football is generally won with a great defense and a sound kicking game. Those facets will give us a chance to win and we will always approach it that way."
"The stakes are high for both teams. It's a huge ball game for us. They have a good ball club and a team that understands what winning looks like. It's one of those games we'll have to eliminate mistakes and penalties. We have to cut down on our issues and play hard. If we do those things we should give ourselves a chance to win. We're as healthy as we've been all season, so hopefully we can get us another home win. I'm tired of going back and forth with our wins. I want to get on a four win roll going into the playoffs. It would be great for Arkansas High and the community."
