Fouke rushes past Genoa in Battle of the Bridge

GENOA, Ark.-Fouke's running game returned against Genoa as it piled on 339 yards on the ground in its 38-27 win in the Battle of the Bridge game.

Jarrett Easley led the Panthers' ground attack, finishing with 311 yards on 34 attempts, including four touchdowns.

Genoa Central's scored the game's first touchdown in the first quarter when he broke loose for a 55-yard TD run, but that would be the Dragons' biggest play of the night.

Fouke would score the next two, with 18- and 73-yard runs by Easley.

Kole Allen scored twice in the second quarter for Genoa Central on runs of 1 and 4 to help the Dragons go into halftime only down, 22-21. But Fouke came out of the break and scored on its first possession when Easley found pay dirt on a 45-yard run and later found the end zone again in the third quarter with a 7-yard score.

Genoa quarterback Bo Jewell scored the game's final touchdown on a 1-yard run.

 

Nashville 45, Mena 7

NASHVILLE, Ark.-Nashville got huge contributions from Trent Harris and Tyler Hanson to send reeling Mena to its fourth straight loss after starting its season 3-0.

Harris rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on just 11 carries, including a 26-yard run in the first quarter that gave the Scrappers an early 21-0 advantage.

In the second quarter, Hanson found receiver Ty Pettway on a 50-yard pass and Harris reached the end zone again later to give Nashville a 42-0 halftime lead.

Pettway finished the game with two catches for 66 yards and a score.

Nashville's final score would come in the third quarter with a 30-yard field goal from Jonny Pioquinto.

Mena's only score was in the fourth quarter when Carson Cannon rushed in from five yards out.

QB Hanson completed 10 of 15 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown for the Scrappers.

Prescott 48,
Benton Harmony Grove 10

BENTON, Ark.-After watching its 21-game win streak get snapped last week, Prescott got back in the win column with a big win over Benton Harmony Grove.

In what some would consider a close matchup in the first half, it was all Curley Wolves in the second.

Going in with a 24-10 lead at halftime, Thomas Muldrew got the scoring started in the third when he found pay dirt on a long 67-yard run. It was Muldrew's second score of the game, the first being a 14-yarder for the game's first score in the first quarter.

Muldrew accounted for another score in the third quarter when he tossed an 84-yard touchdown to Kadarius Pearson.

Prescott would score its final touchdown in the fourth with a 30-yard run by Jayden Riley.

 

Horatio 39, Jessieville 32

JESSIEVILLE, Ark.-Horatio went up against a stingy Jessieville defense, which was allowing just 14 points a game, and left with a big win after racking up 270 yards of offense.

Lions quarterback Zach Izzo got the scoring started in the first quarter when he connected with Taylor Chavez on a 68-yard pass. Izzo would finish the game with 85 yards passing on two completions.

The game looked as it might slip away from Horatio in the second and third quarters, with Jessieville scoring three times before Izzo shifted the momentum with a touchdown on a 14-yard scramble.

Victor Enriquez continued that in the fourth quarter on a 25-yard field goal.

Jessieville, however, would score the next two, before Izzo put the game away with a 5-yard touchdown run. Izzo rushed for a game-high 120 yards on 16 tries. Fellow teammates Mike Jones rushed for 39 yards on 12 attempts and Taylor Chavez added 23 yards
on six totes.
