Prescott boys, Genoa Central girls claim titles

GENOA, Ark.-Neither championship team left any doubt.

Prescott won the boys side of the Conference 7-3A meet at Byron Bryant Field in Genoa, while Genoa Central won the girls division.

The Curley Wolves scored 326.50 total points, and the Lady Dragons scored a combined 284 points.

GC's boys were second with 168 points, and Fouke scored 68 for third. On the girls side, Prescott had 178 for second, and Gurdon scored 114 for third.

Victoria Hill won the triple jump for the Lady Dragons with a score of 32-9. Alley Dawson won the discus throw for GC with a score of 99-6 and she also won the shot put with a final score of 32-9.

Samantha Cutshall won the pole vault for the Lady Dragons with a final score of 8-0.

Carlie Teague won the 1600 meter run for Genoa Central with a time of 6:07.91, and she also won the 3200 meter run by a time of 13:48.06. DonnaJo Rowe won the 400 meter dash for the Lady Dragons with a time of 65.18.

Hill, Sky Byrd, Janie Bentley and Madelin Knotts won the 4x800 meter relay for the Lady Dragons with a time of 11:16.76. Hill, Rowe, Knotts and Savannah Knotts won the 4x400 meter relay for Genoa Central by a time 4:28.78.

Fantasia Barmore won the long jump for Prescott with a score of 16-5.5 and she also won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.30.

Hailey Patrick, Haleigh Wiley, Kyara Pearson and Jamia Smith won the 4x100 meter relay for the Lady Wolves. Wiley also won the 200 meter dash for Prescott by a time of 27.74.

White Hall pitcher Daniel Sprinkle earned a complete-game victory Saturday, leading the Bulldogs to a 3-1 victory over Pulaski Academy in the Class 5A baseball championship at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.

Kadarious Pearson won the pole vault for the Curley Wolves with a height of 12-0. Adrian Block won the 110 meter hurdles for Prescott with a time of 15.36 and he also won the 300 meter hurdles by a time of 40.41.

Quontravius Caldwell won the high jump for Prescott with a score of 6-0.

Prescott's Ryan Johnson set a record in the boys triple jump with a final score of 45-1 and he also won the high jump with a score of 20-9. Johnson also on the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.72, while also winning his fourth event for Prescott in the 200 meter dash by a time of 23.59.

Trey Rucker, Bernie Gonzalez, Tywan Thompson and Caldwell won the 4x800 meter relay for the Curley Wolves by a time of 9:18.86. Larry Peters won the 800 meter run for Prescott with a time of 2:04.88.

Johnson, Caldwell, Peters and Thompson won the 4x400 meter relay for the Curley Wolves with a time of 3:41.12.

Alec Story won the discus throw for the Dragons with a score of 112-2. Caleb Johnson won the shot put for Genoa Central with a final score of 42-5.

Ryan Whitehead won the 1600 meter run for the Dragons with a time of 4:52.26. Dalton Jones won the 3200 meter run for Genoa Central by a time of 11:08.87.

Fouke's Jarret Easley won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.48. Easley, Charly Baker, Chance Crabtree and Trenton Hale won the 4x100 meter relay for the Panthers.
