Lady Tigers drop two of three at tournament

WILLS POINT, Texas-Texas High's volleyball squad was only able to win one of its three games in bracket play on Saturday at the Wills Point Tournament.

The Lady Tigers beat Emory Rains, 25-19, 25-18, but fell to Sulphur Springs, 16-25, 22-25, and to North Forney, 11-25, 22-25.

Vicki Willis led Texas High with 10 points against Rains, with Trey Rush adding nine points and Kaitlyn Cross finishing with eight points. Rush also had 12 kills and 12 assists and Cross had 10 kills and three blocks.

In their loss to Sulphur Springs, Rush finished with nine points, 13 assists and 10 kills.

Willis had a team-high nine points in the loss to North Forney.

 

L-E wins tournament

MARSHALL, Texas-Liberty-Eylau's girls swept their way through bracket play to win the Marshall ETBU
tournament Saturday.

The Lady Leopards defeated Troup, 25-14, 25-21, in the championship game, with Mariah Coleman scoring a team-high nine points.

In the first game, Liberty-Eylau took down Harmon, 25-15, 25-15, and Coleman led the team again with seven points.

Nayla Norris led the Lady Leopards in their 25-13, 25-19, victory over Center. Norris finished with six points.
