BROWNSBORO, Texas-Antonia Porter and Unique McBride each scored 11 points as Texas High defeated Whitehouse, 59-26, in their first game of the Brownsboro basketball tournament on Thursday.
Porter poured in 17 points to lead the Lady Tigers to a 59-43 victory over Palestine. Amiyah Rone and Kerrighan Dunn added 12 points apiece.
Texas High takes on Bullard at 12:15 p.m. today in the tournament.

Tigers go 2-0 on first day
VAN, Texas-Rian Cellers scored 11 points to power Texas High's junior varsity boys to a 69-32 win over Chapel Hill in the Van Basketball Shootout.
Cellers ripped the cords for 16 points as the Tigers defeated All Saints, 63-53.
Zane Dodson contributed 13, and Jamarie McClenton had 10 points for Texas High.
Braylon Stewart swished in 18 points, and Texas High's ninth grade thumped Athens, 63-6.
Michael Thomas scored 12 points for the Tigers.
Thomas had a game-high 17 points as Texas High's freshmen throttled Eustace, 74-19.
Braxton White had 16 points, Stewart added 11, and Jayden Godwin scored 10 for the Tigers.
