Hawks pile up District 6-4A honors

State runner-up Pleasant Grove dominated the All-District 6-4A football team superlatives with six selections.

Tyler Kelley was named Defensive Most Valuable Player, while teammate Ben Harmon was the Offensive Most Valuable Player.

Nick Martin was chosen as the Defensive Newcomer of the Year, Bladen Reaves was Co-Utility Player of the Year, and Reese Foster was Co-Utility Player of the Year.

Pleasant Grove rounded out its six selections when it earned Coaching Staff of the Year.

Liberty-Eylau had two superlatives, as did Spring Hill. Gilmer and Pittsburg had three superlatives each.

Marzavin Riles was named Co-Utility Player of the Year, and teammate Drew Langford was Co-Specialty Player of the Year for the Leopards.

Jaylon Jimmerson of Pittsburg was the District Most Valuable Player. Joining Jimmerson were teammates Braydon Pyron (Co-Utility Player of the Year) and Co-Specialty Player of the Year Gio Rojas.

Offensive Newcomer of the Year was Dylan Fluellen of Gilmer. Bran Webb was Co-Utility Player of the Year, and teammate Christian Fluellen was Co-Specialty Player of the Year for the Buckeyes.

Representing Spring Hill as Co-Utility Player of the Year was Malik Cooks and Anthony Harmon was named Co-Specialty Player of the Year.

Isaiah Cross of Liberty-Eylau was first team quarterback.

Pleasant Grove's Bruce Garrett, Riles from Liberty-Eylau, Desmond Allen of Pittsburg and Daryn Beck of Spring Hill were named first team running backs.

Reaves of Pleasant Grove was first team tight end/h-back, and teammate James Wiggins was first-team fullback.

The first team offensive line was Connor Stanfill (PG), Jamie Lewis (PG), Landon Watlington (PG), Reginald Woodside (L-E), Blake Olivares (Gilmer), and Keilyn McCain (Pitt).

Pleasant Grove's Kamren Woods and Brett Walker were first team receivers. Also first team receivers were Liberty-Eylau's Shayne Porsche and El-Amin Greer.

Rounding out the first team receivers were Tra Fluellen (Gilmer), Zach Henry (Spring Hill), Morgan Bradford (Spring Hill), Keithlen Griffin (Pitt), and Keontae Burns (Pitt).

First team defensive line were Joshua Gamble (L-E), Conderus Shears (L-E), Landon Jackson (PG), Marcus Burris (PG), Antwon Robertson (Pitt), Braydon Morris (Pitt), Abel Euceda (Gilmer), and Richard Matkin (Spring Hill).

Cedric Dickerson (L-E), Raciel Orona (Gilmer), Burns (Pitt), and Brenden Davenport (Spring Hill), were named first team outside linebackers.

Reaves of Pleasant Grove, Riles of Liberty-Eylau, and Camryn Edney of Pittsburg were chosen first team inside linebackers.

Ryan Pickelman (PG), Woods (PG), Dominique Williams (L-E), Sawyer Smith (Spring Hill), Henry (Spring Hill), Griffin (Pitt) and Burns (Pitt) each earned a spot as first team defensive back.

Garrett of Pleasant Grove was the first team kick returner, while Deshun Dickerson of Liberty-Eylau was named first team punt returner.

Dillon Williams of Pleasant Grove was named first team kicker, while Issam Toler of Pittsburg was first team punter.

Pleasant Grove second team honorees included Ryan Pickelman (running back), Jackson Cobb (running back), Brock Bingham (offensive line), Cameron Weekly (defensive line), Jamie Lewis (defensive line), Dylan Hopkins (outside linebacker), Caleb Hemphill (inside linebacker) and Sergio Rodriguez (defensive back).

Liberty-Eylau players who made the second team were Cedrick Dickerson (running back), Connor Green (offensive line), Deshun Dikcerson (receiver), Laken Stuart (defensive line), Ethan Brooks (outside linebacker) and Shannon Roy (defensive back).
