Eighth-grade Tigers overwhelm Pine Tree

LONGVIEW, Texas-Texas Middle School defeated Pine Tree in the 8th grade A game, 41-14.

Javarous Tyson led the Tigers with 11 points and Braylen Stewart added nine points.

TMS defeated Pine Tree in the 8th grade B game, 39-21.

Jake McGuire and Devin Hamilton each scored seven points for the Tigers.

TMS is back in action today and Saturday, in the Idabel Middle School Tournament.

 

Hawks JH win 3 of 4

Rylan Hopkins poured in 11 points for Pleasant Grove's 8th A team, but the Hawks fell to a last second Pittsburg buzzer-beater, 31-30.

Alex Galvan scoured four points for Pleasant Grove's 8th B in a 10-5 victory.

Bret Spivey ripped the cords for nine points, and teammate Elijah Plumley added eight to propel the Hawks past the Pirates, 41-32, in the 7th A game.

William Murphy swished in nine points for PG's 7th B in a 25-22 win.

 

Lady Brahmas cruise to wins

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas-Paul Pewitt's 8th grade A squad rolled past CHAAMP, 56-6.

Aubrey Neuman led the Lady Brahmas offensively, scoring a game-high 20 points.

Sydney Gentry added 15 points for Pewitt.

The Lady Brahmas defeated CHAAMP in the 7th grade contest, 63-8.

Ashawni Cooper led the Lady Brahmas with 18 points.

Adazh'a Cooper added 15 points for Pewitt and McKayla Jackson contributed 13 points.

 

Lions edge Mustangs

NEW BOSTON, Texas-New Boston defeated Hughes Springs in a 8th grade A overtime thriller, 20-19.

Clay Fant led the Lions with eight points.

Cameron Bryant knocked in the game-winning free throw in the extra period for New Boston.

The 8th grade B game between the Lions and Mustangs ended in a tie, 12-12.

New Boston whisked past Hughes Springs in the 7th grade A game, 37-31.

The Lions defeated the Mustangs in the 7th grade B game, 15-8.

 

Genoa Central Middle School Tourney

GENOA, Ark.-Host Genoa Central defeated Fouke in the 3rd place girls game, 25-12.

Fouke defeated the Dragons in the 3rd place boys game, 30-19.

Connor Reed led GC with 11 points.

Spring Hill defeated Lafayette County in the girls championship game, 29-18.

Erin McMasters led the Lady Bears with 14 points and Azurae Semester led the Lady Cougars with 15 points.

Lafayette Country defeated Spring Hill in the boys championship game, 25-21.

Cade Watson led the Bears with 18 points and Keaun Woods led the Cougars with six points.

 

Lady Bears take 4

DeKALB, Texas-DeKalb won all four middle school games against visiting Hooks, including a 30-21 victory in the 8th grade A game.

Kaelyn Alvarez scored eight for the Lady Bears, and Linda Burchette had 11 for the Lady Hornets.

Corianna Fulbright scored 11 for DeKalb's 7th grade A team during a 19-17 win. Ali Jefferson led Hooks with 11 points, also.

The Bears won the 8th grade B game, 18-9, with Madison Jones and Haley Forte each scoring six points. The Bears' 7th grade B team won, 28-4, with Jalynn Hayden scoring eight points for DeKalb.

 

Redwater wins 2 of 3

REDWATER, Texas-Redwater's boys won their 8th grade A game and 7th grade A game, but couldn't finish the sweep as the 8th grade A team fell to Daingerfield.

In the 8th grade A game, Daingerfield was led by DeKevion Montgomery, who scored seven points, and led the Tigers to a 27-12 victory. Redwater's Jonathan Ketchum finished with a team-high five points.

The Dragons cruised past Daingerfield in the 8th grade B game, taking a 22-8 win with Kyle Taylor leading Redwater with 10 points.

Redwater escaped with a 27-24 triumph in the 7th grade A game. Jaylon Wallace led all scorers with 14 points for the Tigers, while Redwater's Collin Marens finished with 10.

 

Red Lick takes 2

RED LICK, Texas-Ann Elise Lindsay and Izzy Hackleman scored eight points each as the Lady Mustangs romped to a 30-15 victory over Queen City in the 8th grade A game.

Queen City took the 8th grade B game, defeating Red Lick, 16-13. Anna Davis finished with a game-high five points for the Lady Mustangs.

In the 7th grade A game, Red Lick came away victorious with a 11-10 finish, as Lady Mustangs' Emma Henard scored six points.

 

PGMS sweeps

PITTSBURG, Texas-Pleasant Grove Middle School won big in all four games on the road against Pittsburg.

Aniyah Allen led the Lady Hawks with 12 points in the 8th grade A game, as cruised past the Lady Pirates, 41-10.

PGMS won the 8th grade B game, 19-3, with Trinity Parks finishing with six points.

Haylie Teague and Rose Anderson each scored six points to lead the Lady Hawks past Pitt in the 7th grade A game, 22-15.

PGMS shut out the Lady Pirates, 27-0, in the 7th grade B game as Savannah Russ scored a game-high 10 points for the Lady Hawks.

 

Queen City wins 4

QUEEN CITY, Texas-Brandon Parkman scored eight points to lead Queen City's 8th grade A team to a 29-27 win over Red Lick.

Martin Haley had a game-high 12 points for the Mustangs.

Cedric Davis poured in 14 points as the Bulldogs' 8th B won, 30-20. Cabe Estes led Red Lick with six points.

Jeremiah Drayton scored 10 points to lead Queen City's 7th A to a 26-22 victory. Ben Bricker lit up the nets for a game-high 15 points for the Mustangs.

Brett Didway scored eight points as the Bulldogs' 8th B won, 24-12. Max Quillen had six points for Red Lick.

Queen City and the Mustangs play at the Atlanta junior high basketball tournament on Saturday.

 

NB, HS girls split

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Karmen Seercy scored 11 points to lead Hughes Springs' 8th grade A team past the Lady Lions, 34-5.

Lillian McGill finished with three points for New Boston.

In the 7th grade A game, New Boston won, 27-3, with Samantha Taylor and Victoria Burns each scoring six points. Lady Mustangs' Romyane McChester had five points.
