Hooks boys beat DeKalb, 53-49

DeKALB, Texas-Riley Hamilton poured in 14 points to lead Hooks to a 53-49 win over DeKalb in a District 14-3A boys varsity basketball game Thursday.

Connor Price helped out with 10 points for the Hornets.

Alex Clark, who hit four shots from downtown, finished with 15 for the Bears (7-15, 1-5). Teammate Logan Corbett added 14 points.

DAINGERFIELD, Texas-Mikal Reeves ripped the nets for a team-high 20 points as the Tigers defeated the Lions in a District 14-3A game.

Tavanta Roy scored 13 for Daingerfield (9-7, 5-1), and teammate Timmyon Broner contributed 10.

Demarcus Smith had a game-high 21 points for New Boston, and teammate Samuel Sanchez added 15.

Jack Cherry, who hit four shots from 3-point land, finished with 16 for Clarksville, while teammate Maykeith Taylor added 13.

Ja'Kevian Rose had a double-double for L-K with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ty Patterson had a double-double as well for the host Tigers with 10 points and 10 boards.

Paris sweeps Hawks

PARIS, Texas-Paris defeated Pleasant Grove Middle School in the 8th grade A game, 57-43.

Whit Lawrence led PGMS offensively with 16 points.

PGMS fell to Paris in the 8th grade B contest, 30-21.

Davion Stewart led the Hawks with seven points.

The 7th grade A Hawks fell to Paris, 39-29.

Elijah Plumley led PGMS with eight points.

Pleasant Grove's 7th grade B squad fell to Paris, 28-12.

Dawson Anderson led the Hawks offense with seven points.

 

Lady Hogs edge Hope

HOPE, Ark.-Stajah Taylor scored 10 points and Arkansas High's 9th grade girls escaped with a 33-32 win over Hope.

Jacia Collins had nine points for the Lady Razorbacks and teammate Allyssa Young added eight.

 

QC, HS split

QUEEN CITY, Texas-The Lady Bulldogs and Hughes Springs were able to come away with a win each.

The Lady Mustangs beat Queen City in the 8th grade A game, 24-20.

Nyla Harrison scored a game-high 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Sydni Davis lit up the scoreboard with 11 points as the Lady Bulldogs 7th grade A team defeated Hughes Springs, 15-4. Landri Beckham and Brylee Everett each added two points for Queen City.
