Texas High's swimming program is the golden standard.

The Tigersharks' boys squad won their 20th district championship with a total team score of 680 and the girls squad won their 15th district title in a row with a score of 689.

"We achieved the goals we set going into the meet," Texas High head swim coach Eric Vogan said. "The kids swam really well and all 44 swimmers of our team qualified for the regional meet. We did really well.

We left a few kids at home that probably could've beat some of the kids here as well but they're up-and-comers on our team. We have a lot of kids graduating this year, so we should be ready to go next year."

The Tigersharks dominated the swimming and diving portions of the meet as a whole.

Kristin Clayton was named the girls' swimmer of the meet for Texas High.

Robert Bland and Courtney Lourens were named divers of the meet, both from Texas High.

"The boys should definitely win regionals," Vogan said. "The girls should win regionals as well but it's going to be more of a challenge. Regionals is in two weeks in Lewisville and we plan to rest our swimmers to put forth our best effort.

They'll wear their big suits for the meet and we will taper them leading up to the meet, because they have to qualify for state. We'll scale back this week on yardage and next week we will really give them a rest heading into the meet."

Texas High may have proven that might not need the rest after all. The Tigersharks either won or medaled in all 24 events.
