North Heights girls take Rabb Relays

ATLANTA, Texas-North Heights won the eighth grade girls division of the Junior High Rabb Relays here Thursday at Rabbit Stadium.

The Lady Backs scored 204 points, with Atlanta's girls second with 163. Queen City had 107 points for third, and Liberty-Eylau 82 for fourth place.

In the boys' eighth grade division, the host Rabbs won with 204.5 points. North Heights, which won all three relays, was runner-up with 192 points, Queen City third with 116.5, and L-E fourth with 89.

Liberty-Eylau won the seventh grade girls title with 221 points, North Heights scored 142 for second, QC 112 for third and Atlanta 80 for fourth.

The Rabbs won the seventh grade boys division with 218 points. Liberty-Eylau was second with 188, Queen City third with 97 and North Heights fourth with 77.

North Heights' eighth grade girls also won all three relays.

Edminie Bashful, Jamyia Montgomery, Keonnie Strickland and Larnya Solomon combined for the win in the 4x100 relay. Tatyiana Floyd, Vicazia Williams, Strickland and Montgomery won the 4x200 for North Heights, and Solomon, Singleton, Keundra Matlock and Taylor Reed won the 4x400 relay.

Montgomery also took gold in the long jump and high jump events, and Singleton won the 300 and 100 hurdles.

Vivian Stovall won the 1,600 meters for the Lady Backs, and Strickland won the 100-meter dash.

In the eighth grade boys events, Malik Carmack, Daequan Williams, Chandler Wright and Marquavious Walkins combined to win the 4x100 and 4x200 relays for the Razorbacks. Jamaree Sims, Wright, Jordan Irving and Antone Harper took gold in the 4x400 relay.

Williams won the 200 meters and the long jump, clearing 19-10 in his leap.

Walkins won the 100 meters, Christian Stewart took the 2,400 meters, and Brandon Boyd won the 110 hurdles.

In the seventh grade girls, Ziare Beverly, Seiara Watson, Makayla Dodd and Keniyaha Bryant won the 4x400 relay for North Heights. Dodd also won the long jump.

Latimereana Walker won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and Haley Stone took the 400 meters for the Lady Backs.

Dailyn Jefferson won the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles for the Hogs' seventh grade boys team.
