Hallsville Bobcats' Makenzie Hollis dives in for the first heat of the girls 200 yard freestyle at the 2018 Northeast Texas TISCA on Saturday at Texarkana College's Pinkerton Wellness Center in Texarkana, Texas.

The 2018 Northeast TISCA Swim and Dive meet saw 12 meet records broken at the Texarkana College Natatorium.

The field loaded with superior 6A teams will be the hardest meet for the Texas High Tigersharks until Regional finals in February.

"The meet went very well for both the boys and the girls," Tigershark head coach Eric Vogan said. "The boys won and the girls were sixth, but they all swam very well. There were a lot of personal best times, and I can't ask for anything more."

The boys got off to a fast team lead as Dylan Rosser, Logan Diggs, John David Cass and Robert Frost won the 200 medley relay. Owen Likins and Max Young finished fourth and sixth in 200 yard freestyle, off the podium but in position to build team points.

Diggs just missed bronze touching fourth in the 200 IM. The Tigersharks had four swimmers gain points in the 50 freestyle with Jackson Shellogg coming in third, Robert Frost sixth, Cameron Alcorn 12th and John David Cass 16th.

The 100 freestyle saw another race where THS racked up points. Young led the Tigersharks with a second place finish. Frost and Shellogg touched simultaneously at fourth and Alcorn was 14th.

Likins snagged a fourth in the 500 freestyle, while teammates Brady Moore and Joshua Oldham gained points in 11th and 13thh positions, respectively.

The last two relay events saw THS bring home solid third place finishes in each. Young, Likins, Shellogg and Frost did the honors in the 200 freestyle, with Shellogg, Young, Rosser and Likins swimming the 400 freestyle. The boys out distanced Klein Oak High School 418 to 298 to win their division.

For the girls is was a day of being David to the Goliaths of 6A, Klein Oak and J.J. Pearce of Richardson.

A sixth place by the 200 yard medley relay team of Katelin Seidenschwarz, Haley Wood, Kaylee Norton and Fezeka Barnes started the girls off where they would finish on the day.

The 2014 Washington County Fair runs from Tuesday August 26 through Saturday August 30 featuring rides, exhibitions and vendors.

Wood brought home a seventh in the 200 IM, Avery Morrill placed 14th in the 200 freestyle and Barnes nailed a fourth in the 50 freestyle.

Barnes and Norton went 11th and 13thh, respectively, in the 100 butterfly and Emma Seidenschwarz had a 13th in the 100 freestyle.

Morrill added a 13th to the girls point total in the 500 freestyle, Katelin Seidenschwarz pulled out an eighth in the 100 backstroke.

Wood swam nicely with a fourth place finish in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 freestyle relay of Barnes, Norton, Morrill and Katelin Seidenschwarz came up at sixth. The final relay of the day had THS finishing seventh with Morrill, Emma Seidenschwarz, Katelin Seidenschwarz, and Wood making the swim.

Against the loaded field, the girls placed sixth with 6A powers Klein Oak and J.J. Pearce finishing first and second, respectively.

In dive action, held on Thursday, Robert Bland took home the gold for the boys. Kate Morgan dove to a third place finish for the girls.

"That is always a bonus for us," Vogan said. "A lot of Class 5A teams don't have divers and we are always really strong in our dive team and it is really a nice way to start a meet."

Despite school being out for Thanksgiving, the Tigersharks will be in the pool getting ready for their next meet in three weeks.

"Our next meet will be Frisco TISCA; there will be all 5A teams there," Vogan said. "There will be no 6A teams there. We will be working on getting faster, we didn't do any resting for this race yet we swam some really fast times."

The Frisco TISCA meet will be December 6-8.
