Rain pushes AHS-Magnolia game to today

MAGNOLIA, Ark.-Arkansas High hit the road Friday to take on Magnolia for both teams' Conference 5A-South opener, but Mother Nature had a different plan.

Lightning in the area moved officials to delay the opening kickoff. After the postponement, storms were still in the area and the contest was ultimately rescheduled for today at 2 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

Arkansas High (2-1) comes into today's game averaging 36.3 points per game and allowing 29 on defense. Running back Cameron Collier leads the team with four touchdowns and has rushed for 227 yards on 36 totes, while wideout Irijah Price leads receivers with 221 yards on 12 receptions.

Magnolia (3-0), however, sports a defense that is giving up only 22 points per game and an offense that is scoring 29 an outing. The Panthers' senior running back Kadyn Roach is coming off a game where he rushed for 241 yards on just 15 attempts against Monticello.

Today's game will be broadcast on 1400 AM.
