Lake Hamilton blanks Arkansas High girls, 12-0

It just seems to get worse for Arkansas High as the Lady Backs suffered another loss-this time to Lake Hamilton as the Lady Wolves run-ruled Arkansas High, 12-0, in five innings Monday at Razorback Field.

"It's the same old story, we just don't hit the ball," said Arkansas High coach Elizabeth Tankersley. "If we don't win some games soon, our playoff chances are slim."

The Lady Backs are currently in fifth place with a 4-5 mark in Conference 5-A South.

Lake Hamilton is in third place with a 6-3 Conference record.

A two-out home run to left field by Lanette Snyder in the second inning started the 14-hit Lake Hamilton attack. The Wolves added another run in the inning.

After scoring two more in the third frame for a 4-0 lead, the Wolves left no doubt about the outcome by plating five runs on five hits in the fourth inning off Jordyn Standley, who came on in relief of Kaitlyn Fortenberry.

Starting pitcher Charlye Rowland led off the fourth by drawing a walk. Four straight hits followed.

Sydney Campbell had a single, Jessye Rowland doubled, Emily Magby doubled, and Kaylin Kauffman singled. After an out, Peyton Hefner singled in the fifth run for a 9-0 advantage.

Campbell and Hefner paced the Wolves 14-hit attack with three hits each.

Arkansas High collected four hits, singles by Shelby Robinson, Fortenberry, Ajahi Cheatham, and Kayla Dossey.

Arkansas High hosts Hot Springs today and Sheridan on Thursday. Both games will begin at 5 p.m.
