LONGVIEW, Texas - Pleasant Grove got in a groove and stayed there.
Ella Nichols smacked seven service points and made six digs as the Lady Hawks defeated Pine Tree, 25-19, 25-21, in their first game Thursday at the Longview volleyball tournament.
Katie Ferguson added five kills and seven sets, and teammate Hallie Lipham made seven assists for Pleasant Grove.
Ferguson was on fire in the second match as the Hawks downed Lindale, 25-19, 18-25, 26-24. Ferguson served in eight points, put down 14 kills and added 10 assists.
Adi Koller led PG with 13 service points, while Nichols had 13 digs. Macy Young contributed eight assists.
The Hawks continue in the tournament on Saturday.
